Butter is out now in theaters and on Video On Demand and just like melted butter on warm bagel, nothing is better to put a smile on your face!
Bob Pickler (Ty Burrell) has been the Butter Sculpting Champ for the last 15 years, but he has been asked to step down and let someone else have a chance at the title. His perfect uptight wife Laura (Jennifer Garner) is not willing to give up that title and will do anything to keep the honor in the family. So she decides that she will take up butter sculpting and keep the title in the family.
Bob meanwhile has found other interests to keep him busy now that his hobby is no longer slicing it for him. He has been going to the local strip club and he hooks up Brooke (Olivia Wilde) for a price. She wants $600 for their love, but Laura crashes in their rendezvous and she doesn’t get paid. Brooke wants her money and will do anything to get it. Like get back at Laura and enter the Mastery of Butter contest.
But she isn’t Laura’s only competition. Young orphan Destiny (Yara Shahidi) has recently been taken in by The Emmets (Alicia Silverstone and Rod Corddry) and she has decided to take up Butter Sculpting. The little girl is quite amazing and she will give Laura a run for her money.
Laura won’t have that, and she gets her ex-boyfriend, who owns the small town’s car dealership, to help her out. Boyd Bolton (Hugh Jackman) is more than willing to help because Laura lets him ride her like one of his cars.
Now it is B-Day for Laura and Destiny and only one of them can be the winner. Who will it be? You will have to see this movie that is as smooth as butter to find out.
If you enjoyed Drop Dead Gorgeous, then you are going to adore this film. It is a fun look at the big going ons in a small town. It doesn’t get much bigger butter in Iowa and Butter is larger than life.
So make a like butter on a hot pancake and run to see this movie in the theater or on On-Demand today. Seeing it is the syrup on top of your day!
Oh and men who are hesitant to see this movie, did I mention Olivia Wilde has a stripping scene in this movie and she makes out with Twilight’s Ashley Green in a steamy sexy kissing scene? Yeah I think there will be a line as long as the one for the women’s bathroom of men waiting to see this film now!
While other networks were using boring old people to talk about the Presidential debate, Jimmy Kimmel decided to discuss it with 4 kids. Their take on it was much more informative than anyone’s who was on CNN, MSNBC or Fox News and because of that I really enjoyed it.
What I absolutely adored had nothing to do with the debate coverage, but what one of the cute tykes said to him. During the last year Kimmel has torture kids by having parents eat all of their Halloween candy, have the adults give kids crappy Christmas presents, Kimmel gave children fake lie detector tests and finally he had parents buy ugly clothes for their little ones to wear on their first day of school. Well yesterday as Kimmel was wrapping up the segment, he told his contributors “I believe that children are our future. Just not the four of you.” And then one of the four said, “Ah, you’re just mean!” That kid is going to make a great politician someday because he is the voice of his generation. He already has my vote!
J.J. Abrams was on Conan O’Brien’s TBS late night show yesterday and he shared the first exclusive clip from Star Trek: Into the Darkness. All I have to say is don’t blink or you will miss it and you don’t want to miss the big reveal. It is so good that I think that J.J. is on fire with his first movie sequel!
Zac Efron was on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday and the ABC host asked him if he got any advice from his Paperboy co-stars. Zac, who spent most of the movie in just his underpants, said the Shirtless Wonder aka Matthew McConaughey told him, “Wouldn’t seem like it is important, but you got to stop taking your shirt off, too much.” Then he added, “People take it real seriously, man. You know, you’d think it wouldn’t matter, but you know people care.” I hope the High School Musical star doesn’t take his advice.
Efron also talked about the infamous scene in the movie that everyone has been talking about, and he ruined it for me. For months we have been hearing how Nicole Kidman pees on him. I thought it was during a sex scene, but turns out she does it when he gets stung by a jellyfish. Oh well, I will not be seeing that movie now because that was the only reason to see it.
The big talk from the Presidential Debate was not about the economy or taxes, but how Mitt Romney plans to fire Big Bird. Well yesterday Conan O’Brien was able to get a sneak peek of what is to come for our favorite Sesame Street friend and let’s just say make sure no kid is near by you when you watch. I am traumatized by it and I haven’t watched the PBS show since I was kid.
BTW I hope someone asks Romney at his next press event if he tasted like chicken?
