Glenn Close is in Dublin, Ireland filming her new movie Albert Nobbs and in case you couldn’t figure it sHE is playing a woman who dresses as a man. According to USA Today the Emmy winner is playing a woman who spends many years disguised as a male butler in order to survive in Victorian Dublin in 1898. So it is like Yentl without the music…in a way.
The makeup department for this movie should win an Oscar for their work because sHE looks nothing like herself and really looks like a man. In my opinion that is the best cross-dressing job since Meryl Streep played a Chasidic Rabbi in Angels of America.
Now back to Glenn, TMZ says sHE looks like Conan O’Brien but I think she looks more like either Denis Leary or Liam Neeson. Who do you think sHE looks like?
Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg were doing the junket for their movie The Fighter, when they were asked to sing their way out of their interview for Popcorn with Peter Travers. Former-rap sensation Marky Mark was all down for it, but the Newsie wasn’t. Eventually he gave in and sang the theme Powerpuff Girls. Listening to him explain why he chose that song with his native English accent and with the longer hair and facial hair, I think he feels more like a rock star than his co-star who really was one.
Neil Diamond is no longer Song Sung Blue because today the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced he is among one of their latest inductees along with Alice Cooper and Tom Waits. I’m a Believer that he deserved to be inducted, so lift a glass of Red Red Wine for him finally getting the honor. And also one for Alice because I say it is about time the Hall of Fame was schooled by him!
The 8 musicians will get their on Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. It should be a fun show when it airs on Fuse!
