February 25th, 2010 under Before They Were Famous, Tracey Gold. [ Comments: none ]

Before Tracey Gold had a loving family on Growing Pains, she was an orphan on CHiPs. How awwwdorable was the 10 year old actress in that 1979 episode?

RIP Andrew Koenig
February 25th, 2010 under Obits. [ Comments: none ]

After missing for almost two weeks, Andrew Koenig was found dead today in Stanley Park at the age of just 41. According to his father, Walter Koenig from Star Trek his son committed suicide due his depression.
Although we found him once again when he was missing, let’s remember him from happier times back when he was playing Boner on Growing Pains.
As his dad said, if you need help please get it. There are people that love you and let them help you because they want to and you need them to.

Brittany Murphy did not have illegal drugs in her system

The toxicology report from the LA Coroner’s Office is in for Brittany Murphy and she did not have illegal drugs in her system. According to TMZ, the report says, “Multiple medications were present in the blood, with elevated levels of hydrocodone, acetaminophen, and chlorpheniramine. L-methamphetamine was also present.” The report goes on, “It should be noted that the pattern of use of these medications suggest treatment of symptoms of a cold or other respiratory infection. Acetaminophen and hydrocodone are components of Vicodin. Chlorpheniramine is the active ingredient in some over-the-counter medications. L-methamphetamine is a component of some inhalers.” The report goes on to say, “The possible adverse physiological effects of elevated levels of these medications cannot be discounted, especially in her weakened state. Therefore the manner of death is Accident.”
It is so scary that you think that over-the-counter drugs can’t kill you, but what we have learned from her death is that they can. So sad and scary.
When Brittany Murphy died, I was on the phone with my friend and she was convinced it was illegal drugs that killed her and I said it could have been the flu. Now we know it was the pneumonia and self-medicating with over-the-counter and prescription drugs that took away this talented actress way too soon. I really hope that now that we know what was the cause of her death, that her reputation has cleared up because there were a lot of people who thought like my friend.

Mariska Hargitay’s awkward kiss with Kathy Griffin
February 25th, 2010 under Kathy Griffin, Mariska Hargitay, NBC. [ Comments: 1 ]

On Wednesday’s Law & Order: SVU on NBC at 9p Kathy Griffin will be playing Babs, a lesbian activist whose group members are being murdered. While Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is protecting her, Babs misreads the signals and kisses her. That kiss has to be the most awkward same-sex kiss on TV so far, but I think it was suppose to play out that way. Even as uneasy as it felt, I am sure there will be a lot people who will be using the :10 second rewind feature on their remotes to watch it over and over again.
BTW there are two new episodes of Law & Order: SVU this Wednesday, one at 9p and one at 10p. This will be first time SVU will air in its old timeslot since the failed Jay Leno experiment.

A mini my so-called life reunion!
February 25th, 2010 under Claire Danes, Jared Leto, Reunions. [ Comments: none ]

Ever wondered what would’ve happened had my so-called life’s Jordan Catalano and Angela Chase got together in their 30’s? Well now thanks to Claire Danes and Jared Leto meeting up at ELLE Style Awards 2010, we now have a glimpse of what might have been. As we can see it is no longer 1995 for both of them, but 15 years later the biggest change of their looks for both of them is their hair.
