Jennifer Love Hewitt and her fiance Ross McCall have called off their engagement according to People.

“They broke up over the holidays and have ended their engagement,” says a source close to the couple. “They’re both really sad about this. Even their friends are surprised; they seemed really happy. Everyone just wants the best for both of them.”

The two had been dating for three years and were engaged in November 2007. Ross’ loss will definitely be another man’s gain.

Start working out with Diet Tribe tonight on Lifetime.
January 5th, 2009 under Lifetime. [ Comments: none ]

“DietTribe” is Lifetime’s new reality series that follows the emotional journey of five friends as they attempt to go from “fat” to “fit.” These women have made a commitment to lose their unwanted pounds together. With the help of professional fitness trainer Jessie Pavelka and psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser (of “Celebrity Fit Club” fame), each woman will change her eating and exercise habits over the course of three months and confront the issues that caused her to gain weight initially.
Close friends Anna Lloyd (30, Pasadena, California), Lydia Moody (26, Los Angeles), Megan Stewart (29, Anaheim, California), Shawna McClellan (27, Anaheim, California) and Morgan Lancaster (31, Monrovia, California) have stuck together through thick and thin, sharing a strong bond that has lasted for many years. In recent months, they have come face-to-face with an uncomfortable truth — that their lifestyles and their friendship have resulted in unhealthy weight gains. In “DietTribe,” each woman has her own reason for wanting to lose weight, but all have one common goal: to look their very best at Anna’s upcoming wedding.
Over the course of 90 days, Anna, Lydia, Megan, Shawna and Morgan will try to turn their poor habits into healthy choices by attempting to lose 30 pounds or more with the help of their trainer and therapist. Through the course of the five-episode series, cameras follow the tight-knit group as they deal with real-life temptations, struggle to stay on track through the toughest workouts of their lives and face the scale each week to see how far they have come both mentally and physically.

Lifetime’s Diet Tribe’s formula is nothing new, but how they are doing it with the people they are is. Diet Tribe is about 5 friends who have gained weight together and now attempt to lose it together for their friend’s wedding. Each friend handles the challenges to lose weight differently and one girl fights the trainer at every inch. It will be interesting to see if their friendships will endure the test of dieting.
What I like about Diet Tribe is that it is friends who are trying to lose the weight together. What better support when you are dieting than friends, but then again that could also be a bad thing.
Tune into Lifetime tonight and every Monday at 10p to see if these five friends will look good for their friend’s wedding? I know I can’t wait to see the final results!!!

Rebecca Romijn has twin girls
January 5th, 2009 under Babies. [ Comments: none ]

So who had the last celebrity babies of the year? Well according to Us Weekly that honor belongs to Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell. The two welcomed their twin girls Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip on Dec. 28.
The birth announcement actually broke on Howard Stern's radio show appropriately enough since the two have revealed many private things on his show. So now I wonder who will get the first pictures of the little duo since it is the only thing that makes the two interesting anymore.

BTWF ads: Brad Pitt for Pringles
January 5th, 2009 under Before They Were Famous, Brangelina. [ Comments: 1 ]

Before we all had the fever for Brad Pitt when he off his shirt in Thelma and Louise, aged backwards in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and was the father of 6 with Angelina Jolie, he had the fever for Pringles back in the early ’90s! I bet the Golden Globe nominee wishes he can age backwards and not do that ad, but that would be a shame because he looked as tasty as a can of Pringles potato chips!!!

The Secret Life of the American Teenager is back tonight
January 5th, 2009 under Freeform, The Secret Life of an American Teenager. [ Comments: 4 ]

One of best new shows of the season The Secret Life of the American Teenager is back tonight on ABC Family at 8p. Amy is still pregnant, but when her mom (Molly Ringwald) tells her she is going to get a job and not take care of the baby, Amy decides to do something drastic. Amy tells Ben she wants to get married now. Because the two are minors they need to get fake IDs and once they do the guy they got it from spreads the news and everyone wants fake IDs to go to their wedding. Will Amy and Ben really go through with it and who will go to their wedding?
This episode picked up where the last one left off and we get to see some of the characters deal with some of the complications from the last episode.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager is a great show for parents to watch with their kids because there is so much good messaging on the show and it will lead to parents and teens talking about the issues after the show. The show deals with everything from abstinence to a pregnant teen and everything in between, so you see all sides! So I highly recommend it for parents and teens. But I also suggest it for anyone who wants to watch a good show.
So tune into one of the biggest shows of 2008 tonight and every Monday on ABC Family at 8p!!!
