Clay Aiken’s horrible Newsweek interview
January 12th, 2008 under American Idol 1-5. [ Comments: 1 ]

Clay Aiken sat down with Newsweek to talk about Spamalot and the interview went very badly.

How did you get into a fight with that lady on a plane?
I'm not going to talk about it.

I was just curious because you've never talked about it.
I did talk about it.

What about the Kelly Ripa thing?
I'm not going to discuss it.

Did you think it was homophobic?
I'm not going to discuss it.

What do you want to talk about?
I think we're done.

Can we talk about something fun?
No, we're done. I thought NEWSWEEK would be more reputable. I'm surprised.

But I think people are curious about it.
It was a year ago. This is NEWSWEEK. It's not the National Enquirer. I'd hate to have a job where I had to be rude to people.

We're just having a conversation.
Change the subject! I'd never take a job where I had to do something that I didn't want to do.

What about all those Ford commercials on "American Idol"?
That wasn't a job.

It was part of your job.
It wasn't a Ford commercial. It was a music video. It was a completely different thing.

I'll change the subject. What do you do for fun?
I watch the news. I read news magazines, but I'm reconsidering that now.

Are you going to watch "Idol"?
I haven't watched since season four. I compare it to high-school football–if it weren't for high school, we wouldn't be successful, but I don't need to keep going to the football games.

Good for Clay, I can't blame him for having the reaction he had with her.

Queen Sized is worth the watch
January 12th, 2008 under Lifetime, Reviews. [ Comments: 1 ]

Tonight on Lifetime Nikki Blonsky makes her TV movie debut in Queen Sized at 9p and it was a great debut in a good movie.
Nikki Blonsky plays an overweight teen Maggie Baker that is nominated for Homecoming Queen as a joke, but she takes the nomination seriously. Annie Potts plays her mom and is big reason why she has no self-confidence. She has friends who support and she winds up making new ones that will do anything to help her become school reality. What is so great movie is it is great to watch Maggie Baker grow in the movie and go from someone who has no self-confidence walk with her head held high by the end of movie.
So tune it to Queen Sized tonight on Lifetime at 9p for a movie that will inspire you!

Despite various media reports that Aguilera had her baby on Friday, Max – 6 lbs., 2 oz. and 20.5 inches – arrived late on Saturday night in L.A.

NBC’s The Baby Borrowers is better than I thought!
January 11th, 2008 under The Baby Borrowers. [ Comments: 3 ]

(video © NBC)

So I saw the first two episodes of NBC’s The Baby Borrowers that premieres on February 18th and all I can say is wow.
These 5 teen (18-20) couples think they are prepared to be parents and it was so compelling to watch how quickly that all changes when they are faced with real life like challenges. None of them (including me) realized how tough it is to raise a baby and that is only 1/5th of the experiment.
And for those of you who will try to bring controversy to this show saying how could any parent leave their kids with 2 teenagers who have no experience raising a child there is a nanny with them 24 hours a day and the parents monitor them from a near-by house and have the options to talk them or to take the kids away. There is nothing controversial about this show it is only beneficial.
So parents and teachers I highly recommend that you watch this show with your kids because it really shows that being a teen parent is not as easy as looks. Heck it shows being a parent isn’t as easy at looks.
BTW I can’t wait to see how this experiment changed their lives.
