In honor of Chuck Lorre’s nominations!!!
July 6th, 2006 under Chuck Lorre, Emmys. [ Comments: 1 ]

I am posting one of my favorite Vanity Cards from this year’s Two and a Half Men!

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #153
Fifteen years ago I bumped into Donald Trump. Literally. I wasn’t looking where I was going and, I suppose, neither was he. Our collision caused his very large bodyguard to charge toward me in order to neutralize any possible threat to his boss. Now what happened next is why I’ve never forgotten the incident. Trump quickly looked me up and down and correctly assessed that I posed no danger. With a small, smirking frown and a dismissive little wave, he instantly communicated to his hulking assistant that I should be ignored. The entire incident couldn’t have lasted more than ten seconds. No one said, "sorry," or "excuse me," and we all went our separate ways. After all these years, the memory that lingers, the image that haunts, is of his smug pout and condescending hand gesture that somehow caused me to feel utterly insignificant. I was reminded of all this when I looked at the ratings of Two and a Half Men versus the ratings of The Apprentice. Hey, Donald, I just bumped into you again!

Go Chuck Lorre! In fact Chuck can take pleasure in the fact that he got 7 nominations today while Donald Trump’s The Apprentice got only one!

Desperate for Attention
July 6th, 2006 under ABC. [ Comments: none ]

It’s Wednesday night about 7pm, Jesse Metcalfe and a very slim blonde young lady entered the restaurant for dinner in Los Angeles. He ordered red wine, she ordered white. So our story begins…
They were seated at an intimate table for two against the back wall of the restaurant, away from other customers. Without asking the wait staff, Jesse picked up and moved to a table for four at the front of the restaurant next to a big window. When the waiter came over to his table and commented that the table was for four people, not two, Jesse complained that it was too loud in the other spot and added "If you get a rush of people in, we’ll move."
It seems as though Jesse was in the mood for a quiet dinner for two right? Wrong. TV’s one-time hottest gardener picked up his Treo-like cell phone and started chatting away, VERY loudly. Once he hung up, he proceeded to relay his entire phone conversation to his date, loud enough for all in the restaurant to hear.
So much for Metcalfe’s "quiet" evening.

Emmy says. “Take that Tom Cruise” with South Park nom!
July 6th, 2006 under Comedy Central, Emmys, South Park, Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes/Suri. [ Comments: none ]

One of the Emmy nominees for best animated program is the episode of "South Park" that’s said to have angered Tom Cruise and Isaac Hayes.

The episode called "Trapped in the Closet" implies that Cruise is gay and makes fun of Scientology.

Cruise’s fellow Scientologist Isaac Hayes reportedly quit because he was upset with the episode. And when it came time to rerun it, Cruise allegedly called Comedy Central and demanded that it be pulled. It was, even though Cruise’s people denied he asked for it.

Do you think the Emmy voters knew the premise behind this episode when they selected it?

Still rooting for Family Guy, but a little part of me is saying Go South Park!
