Boycott Vitamin Water
July 7th, 2006 under American Idol 1-5, Odd. [ Comments: none ]

KELLY Clarkson has agreed to promote her own flavor of Vitamin Water. The only catch is the company won’t announce the deal until the "American Idol" winner loses some more weight. Last year, 50 Cent endorsed his own flavor of the trendy sports drink, which is said to have 50 percent of the daily vitamin requirements. The muscular rapper actually looks like he’s in robust health. Clarkson looks like she could lose a few pounds. Since the brand is all about fitness and health, she’s been put on a strict diet and the deal is secret until she slims down.

Please she is fine the way she is! Seriously not the best advertising idea to have a superskiiny girl (like Nicole Richie) promote your Vitamin Water as their only meal of the day. But it could just be me?

Big Brother All-Stars
July 7th, 2006 under Big Brother- US. [ Comments: none ]

My quick review of Big Brother All-Stars. All I can stay is I stopped watching after season 2 and after last night I see why. Seasons 2 was the best, how awesome are Mike "Boogie" Malin snd Will Kirby. They are such rat bastards, I am only going to watch as long as these two are the show! Go Mike and Will!

Rock Star: Superblah
July 7th, 2006 under Rock Star: Supernova. [ Comments: none ]

Sorry, this review is last but like most network TV watchers I was wacthing SYTYCD and America’s Got Talent.

After a year of my friends praising Rock Star, I finally decided to give in and watch Rock Star: Supernova. All I can say I am an American Idol girl! It is not that talent is better because they are not. It is the judges! Dude they are rockers, they have more tattoos combined than your average HS, but they were so freaking nice. Everyone rocked! Woo Hoo! Brandy was harsher to contestants on AGT than Tommy Lee was to anyone. I mean The Hoff was funnier than that Metallica (Napster good, Metallica bad) guy getting on his knee and proposing to that amazing Russian singer. Even SYTYCD was more critical of it’s dancers than these so called rockers were to the singers.

Again I am not saying the singers are not good on this show, I am saying the judges need to be the rockers that are and say something bad. A big reason people watch American Idol is not only for the talent but to see what Simon Cowell has to say. So I will give it one more chance, but if these judges remain as nice as Paula Abdul I will erase it from my tivo.

Pavarotti undergoes surgery for pancreatic cancer
July 7th, 2006 under Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

Tenor Luciano Pavarotti underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer and is "recovering well," his manager said Friday. The 70-year-old singer was preparing to leave New York last week to resume his farewell world concert tour in Britain when doctors discovered a malignant pancreatic mass, Terri Robson said from her London office."Fortunately, the mass was able to be completely removed at surgery," she said in a statement. "Mr. Pavarotti is recovering well and his physicians are encouraged by the physical and emotional resilience of their patient."She told The Associated Press he underwent surgery within the past week at a hospital in New York that she declined to identify. She said he remained hospitalized Friday. As a result of Pavarotti’s treatment, all remaining 2006 concerts have been cancelled, she said. It is anticipated that tour plans will resume in early 2007.Concerts had been scheduled for Finland, Norway, Austria, Switzerland and Portugal in September.Pavarotti was forced to postpone five June dates because of complications from back surgery. He cancelled eight concerts in April, saying he had been advised not to travel or perform while undergoing back treatment.Because pancreatic cancer is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage, it has one of the worst prognoses of all types of malignancies. Less than four per cent of patients are still alive five years after diagnosis, and most die within a year. Even in the minority of cases where the tumour can be operated on, only about 23 per cent remain cancer free.Robson didn’t say what type of pancreatic cancer Pavarotti had. In 2004, Apple Computer Inc.’s Steve Jobs said he had a less-lethal form of the disease and that doctors had successfully removed his cancerous tumour.
