Not that I don’t think Katie-Gate doesn’t have something to do with T.C.’s negative Biz sitch. I mean, lambasting gals who need postpartum-depression help in pill form ain’t exactly good for the ol’ female portion of the box office, ka-peesh?Specifically, I’m told Cruise’s movie deal at Paramount is expiring in seconds, and so far, it hasn’t been renewed. Nor does it look to be.See, it costs Paramount oodles ‘n’ oodles to pay Tom Cruise to keep his movies there, so they can distribute them and make money from the profits. The prob is, when someone as entourage-heavy and fancy-schmancy as T.C. is the talent, well, let’s put it this way: Paramount doesn’t see too much of the profits.And as it currently stands, Mission: Impossible III has made about half the domestic monies the second installment did and about two-thirds of M:I:II’s worldwide profits. Combine those disappointing numbers with the fact that your star is telling women what do to with their bodies and the fact that it’s gonna cost ya buttloads to keep said mega-talent around, and you’ve got the current boardroom scene over at Paramount. As of press time, Paramount would only tell me nothing official was in the works in regards to future biz plan with T.C. But I’m sure they’ll tell me–in the future–what they plan on doing. ‘Cause right now, all I got is the unofficial version, which includes active campaigning by certain studio big-wigs to try and get Cruise off the lot. What heathens!Oh, and Cruise’s rep told me Tom hasn’t told him anything regarding his feelings about Paramount–or any other possible deal in the works. Trust me, Tom. Take a year off, do Magnolia 2 (and stay out of women’s reproductive issues), and you’ll have that Oscar in no time.

PARIS HILTON has rubbished the idea THE SIMPLE LIFE offers viewers an insight into what she is actually like as the reality show is "fake". The hotel heiress and her former best friend NICOLE RICHIE star in the popular programme, but Hilton deliberately set out to invent a character not like her true self. She says, "Simple Life is a reality show and people might assume it’s real. But it’s fake. All reality shows are fake basically. When you have a camera on you, you are not going to act yourself. "So before I started the show I thought I’d make a character like the movies. LEGALLY BLONDE and CLUELESS mixed together, with a rich girl all-in-one. "Even my voice is different from me in real life. It’s a character I like to play. I think its carefree and happy. "The public think they know me but they really don’t."

RYAN O’NEAL began "hating" his daughter TATUM O’NEAL immediately after she became the youngest person to ever win a competitive Academy Award according to the former child star. Tatum was only 10 years old when she won the Best Supporting Actress for her role in 1973’s PAPER MOON, in which she starred alongside her father. And Tatum claims her father has resented her success ever since. She says, "Things with my dad were pretty good until I won an Academy Award. "He didn’t even come with me that night – my grandparents took me. He was really loving me until I got more attention than he did. "Then he hated me. Literally hated me. Forever."

Actor DAMON WAYANS feels inadequate when he meets superstars like PRINCE and MICHAEL JACKSON because he worries his achievements pale in comparison to theirs. The BAMBOOZLED star felt especially nervous when he found himself standing next to Prince at last month’s (JUN06) Black Entertainment (BET) Awards, which he hosted. Wayans says, "Certain people I get nervous around, in a good way, like a fan. "Prince, MICHAEL JACKSON, MICHAEL JORDAN, these guys I’m so in awe of them and what they have accomplished, I just don’t want them to look at me and say, ‘Why are you here?’"

ROBERT DOWNEY JR has psychic powers that allow him to dream about film projects years before they become reality. The CHAPLIN star often conjures up movies in his sleep and then suffers a strange sense of deja vu when he’s actually offered his dream roles years later. The actor explains, "There have been times where I realised that my dreamscape is obviously being influenced by what I’m doing when I’m awake. "I know for sure that I’ve had dreams and then realised that they were about movies that I was 10 or 15 years away from doing. That’s the great thing about that whole dream world – it has nothing to do with space and time. "There’s this thing I’m doing in Toronto right now (movie CHARLIE BARTLETT), where, I swear to God, I remember having this dream and in the dream, they (producers) said, ‘Yeah, we worked it out so that you’re on HOPE DAVIS’ schedule.’ "Then I started seeing Hope Davis, who’s in the film. I can tell you that with the 70 movies I’ve done, probably 25 per cent of them have been: ‘This is too weird.’ "We’re always kind of creating our reality one way or another. It’s too much work to create your reality just when you’re awake."
