Son: Hi, Mom! I just got a job with Netflix!!!
Mom: I am so proud of you. I can’t wait to share the news with my Mahjong girls. Are you going to be in a movie?
Son: No.
Mom: Are you going to be in a TV show?
Son: No.
Mom: Then, what?
Son: They are going to put me in a billboard on Sunset for two days to promote one of their films.
Mom hangs up!
That is the call some son had with his mom when he told her that he would be stuck in a billboard, 30 feet high, to promote The Last House, a film about a family stuck in their house.
In case you are wondering, reports say that it is indeed air-conditioned, which is a good thing. Because if they didn’t, he would not survive the two days in over 90-degree heat.
The Last House streams tomorrow. I wonder if there is a television in there so that he can watch it. He can watch it in between interacting with passersby via cue cards.
Before Soleil Moon Frye’s parents abandoned her in Punky Brewster, her mother found her a loving home before she died in Who Will Love My Children? How precious was the 6-year-old in that 1982 telemovie.
Today is Soleil Moon Frye’s 50th birthday, and the actress is celebrating by wearing what she wore on August 6, 1976, just her birthday suit and blanket. Because of how she looks, I can’t believe that Punky Brewster is half a century old. I guess Sabrina used some of her witchcraft on her old roommate because she hasn’t aged since she joined that series in 2000. Seriously, doesn’t she look fantastic?
In 2010, Adam Sandler decided it was time for him and his friends to become Grown Ups. Three years later, they did it again.
But then they became kids again. Now, 13 years later, they are ready to be Grown Ups for a third time. So they broke bread and began filming the sequel for Netflix in New Jersey.
Sandler will once again be joined by Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and Salma Hayek Pinault.
What can we expect from the movie? According to Tudum, “Now that their kids are all grown up, the gang is finally free to go on the ultimate adventure.”
On that note, they did not say how they will honor the late Cameron Boyce, who played Sandler’s son, but I am sure he will find a heartfelt way, just like all those he lost between Happy Gilmore sequels.
Jackson Olson probably thought he made it when he was selected to play for the Savannah Bananas. But that was just the start. Because of his fame, he got to first base with Pat Sajak’s daughter, Maggie. And because he is dating her, he caught the attention of Dancing with the Stars and will be competing this Fall.
And now, he got something on his own that is his own. What is it? Supercuts is offering The Jax, which is his signature hairstyle. The hairdo is described as, “The Jax is a modern textured crop with a forward flow and frosted tips, an early-2000s throwback riding the current wave of nostalgia in fashion and pop culture.”
“I’m excited to partner with Supercuts to introduce ‘The Jax’ signature haircut. I’ve always believed a great haircut should be reliable and accessible, and that’s exactly what Supercuts delivers. Being on the go between all of the travel, training, practices, and balancing games and show days with the Savannah Bananas and Dancing with the Stars, it’s important to have a place that gets my haircut right everywhere I am. If you want your kids to walk in on the first day looking sharp and feeling their best, Supercuts is the place to go,” said Olson.
How many celebrities can say that their haircuts were being offered at salons? There was Jennifer Aniston’s The Rachel, Victoria Beckham’s The Posh Bob, Farrah Fawcett’s The Feathered Waves, Veronica Lake’s The Peek-a-Boo, and now The Jax. If that doesn’t say you made it, I don’t know what does.
The Jax is available starting today. However, call your Supercuts before you go in to make sure that they are offering it.
