I don’t know about you, but ever since Ashlee Simpson married Evan Ross, we don’t see her as much as we used to.
However, that is going to change in August because she will be returning to the stage at the Voltaire in the Venetian in Las Vegas for a two-night event.
“I’m so excited to take the stage in such a stunning space like Voltaire and have the opportunity to perform up close and personal with my fans,” she wrote. “We’re working so hard to make this show feel personal and special, so I can’t wait to share this experience and connect with the audience in such a perfect setting.”
If you can’t make it to Vegas, don’t worry. She added, “This is the beginning.” So, it sounds like she will be hitting the road soon.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about the poster. Am I the only one who didn’t recognize her? She looks like a combination of the Nickelodeon stars who were on Dan Schneider’s shows.
The Savanah Bananas have made a name for themselves on social media. And next month, they are going from the smaller screen to the small screen.
The baseball team that live up to their name, in a good way, will make its broadcast TV debut on The CW next month.
“Banana Ball on The CW is a no-brainer,” said Jesse Cole, founder and CEO of the Savannah Bananas. “After seeing their recent commitment to sports, we knew this could be a great partnership. With the speed and entertainment of Banana Ball, we look forward to creating new fans together in the years to come.”
Their first game will air on July 27th, and we will watch them play, dance, and make us enjoy baseball all over again in front of a sold-out crowd in Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park.
If you are unfamiliar with them, you can discover them on all the social media apps. They are just pure joy, and I am so happy they are finally getting the exposure they deserve.
Miranda Cosgrove is ready to meet the one, and Netflix is going to help her meet him.
Well, not exactly, the actress is starring in The Wrong Paris. She plays a young woman who joins a dating show thinking it’s in Paris, France, but it’s actually in Paris, Texas. She plots a way to get eliminated until her unexpected feelings for the bachelor (Pierson Fodé) complicate her plans.
The movie comes for Michael Damian and his wife, Janeen, and together they have brought several sweet Rom-Coms to Hallmark and Netflix, like A Princess for Christmas, Falling for Christmas, and Irish Wish, so I am looking forward to this.
In 1989, we fell in love with Bill & Ted, and we still love them! Case in point, later this year, they will be sharing the stage in Waiting for Godot on Broadway, and it is the most anticipated show of the Fall.
Well, a lightbulb went off in someone’s head when they realized that the actors are coming to the Great White Way, so they said that we should get Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves to present at this year’s Tony Awards. Therefore,, they put out the offer, and they said, “Excellent,” and did an air guitar strum.
I have a most excellent idea. They should start off the show with them dressed as Bill & Ted. Then we hear someone say that they need to do a paper on Hamilton. So, they run to their phone booth on stage left, go into it, and the lights go dark. Then, when they turn on, we see the cast of Hamilton ready to perform. Since Lin-Manuel Miranda and the OG cast are reuniting to celebrate the musical’s 10th anniversary.
Then, when they are done, the lights go dark. When they come back on, Ted says, “What year is it? 1776? 2016? Or 2025?” And Bill says, “Woah, dude!” Then, they go to commercial.
When I told my friend that idea, he told me his idea. He said that Patti LuPone and Audra McDonald should come out holding hands! Maybe they can do that too for the first award.
Here are the other presenters: Aaron Tveit, Adam Lambert, Allison Janney, Ariana DeBose, Ben Stiller, Bryan Cranston, Carrie Preston, Charli D’Amelio, Danielle Brooks, Jean Smart, Jesse Eisenberg, Katie Holmes, Kelli O’Hara, Kristin Chenoweth, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Lea Michele, Lea Salonga, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Michelle Williams, Oprah, Rachel Bay Jones, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Samuel L. Jackson, Sara Bareilles and Sarah Paulson.
My only complaint is that they didn’t ask Little Shop of Horrors’ Milo Manheim and Elizabeth Gillies to be part of the show. They are being hailed as the best Seymour and Audrey of this run. So, it would have been nice if they were able to be part of the broadcast. Who is with me?
For a few weeks, we have been hearing Mariska Hargitay talk about the documentary she made about her mom, Jayne Mansfield. I don’t know about you, but I have been really wanting to see My Mom Jayne, and wondered how I would be able to watch it. Today, HBO Max announced that they will start streaming it on June 27th.
The gorgeous ’60s sex symbol died in 1967 in a tragic car accident. Mariska, then 3, was in the backseat of the car. Thankfully, she doesn’t remember that night. But sadly, she also doesn’t remember her mother when she was alive. So, she was on a quest to learn more about her mother. And in the process, she learned a lot about herself.
As the actress explores the complexities behind who Jayne Mansfield was in public, she reckons with the persona that Jayne created, but was later desperate to escape. Through deeply personal interviews with her siblings, who each has their own memories of their mother, and an excavation of the photographs, letters, and cherished belongings Jayne left behind, Mariska assembles a new picture of the extraordinary, complex woman whose image and legacy she resisted for so many years. With courage and vulnerability, Mariska engages in the process of opening herself to a new, hard-won collection of memories—and a deeper level of truth.
I will be watching her truth, and it sounds like I will be shedding a tear. Will you be watching?
