Jeannie Moos retires from CNN
June 30th, 2024 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

When I worked at CNN, I spoke with several journalistic legends. However, there was only one reporter who would make me fangirl when she called. That brilliant journalist is Jeannie Moos.

I never met or worked with anyone who has her wit. She is one of a kind, and I was lucky to have worked with her.

As were the people who worked with her before, during, and after me. But sadly, her reign has come to an end.

Moos announced at the end of the week that her time with CNN has come to an after 43 years.

I’m leaving the company tomorrow…calling it a day. Actually I’m calling it around 16,000 days since I’ve been at CNN for over 43 years.

I’m the shy, retiring type so I’m retiring shyly, avoiding all fanfare and lingering goodbyes. Just want to thank everyone who helped me do what I love. Special thanks to the cameramen and women whose backs I strained shooting excessive b-roll, to the editors who put up with my micromanagement during endless edits, to the makeup artists who made me look better than I actually do and especially to the producers who I’ve worked with since I first came to CNN in 1981 when it was 6 months old. Imagine being a producer and doing nothing but Moos stories for YEARS. Those people are saints.

I don’t expect to go back to packaging full-time, though might entertain quirky projects if I get bored and someone has something fun to pitch. But, for God’s sake, please…NO MORE STORY IDEAS! Any more story ideas and I’ll want to retire FROM LIFE.

Jeanne

CNN lost a legend, and she will never be replaced. There will never be another Jeannie Moos. And I don’t know if that is a good thing or not.

So, Miss Moos. I want to thank you for making the news special.

Another doctor quits Chicago Med
June 29th, 2024 under Dick Wolf. [ Comments: none ]

It seems like every season, another actor leaves Chicago Med, and this year is no different.

Dominic Raines, who plays Dr. Marcel will not be a series regular when the show returns for season 10.

According to Deadline, there is no word if we will see him again on the medical procedural.

His exit should not be that hard to write. During the season finale, his character was taking some time off. Dr. Marcel turned a child down for a transplant. When that kid died, the boy’s father killed himself. Their deaths left Dr. Marcel with such guilt that he was told to take as much time as he needed. And it sounds like he will take it all.

Raines’ departure is a huge loss for the series. He was one of the few characters who was at least interesting. Plus, he was easy on the eyes.

Are you going to miss him?

Back in the ’70s, girls were watching The Brady Bunch and Happy Days. However, they never saw Greg Brady and Ralph Malpph together, much to their disappointment.

That was then. Recently, Barry Williams and Donny Most got together, and we got to hear two teenage heartthrobs sing the Happy Days theme song together.

And now all of those groovy girls are having happy days!!!

Can Ayo Edebiri get Jeremy Allen White to dance?
June 28th, 2024 under Jeremy Allen White. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday, Hulu dropped all ten episodes of The Bear. So, to honor the occasion, Ayo Edebiri posted a video of herself dancing with Matty Matheson. However, it was missing something, and that thing was Jeremy White. Therefore, she pulled him in to join them, but he bowed out.

And to me, this was the perfect metaphor for watching the third season. I was dancing like Ayo when I hit play, but I was like Jeremy after a few minutes I was like how can I get out of this?

Without spoilers, I felt like it was a slice of life I didn’t care about. It was as though it was an unedited reality show without any juicy scenes. If I wanted to know what it felt like to work in a restaurant for 30 minutes straight, I would get a job in one. In short, it was so dull.

Charlie Puth can literally make a song out of nothing
June 28th, 2024 under Charlie Puth. [ Comments: none ]

Charlie Puth is a musical genius. When a song comes into his head, he will stop everything, including having sex, to write it down.

Nothing can stop him. Not even nothing. The musician made music with nothing.

He recorded nothing, played it back on his computer, and we heard a note. He added that note to his keyboard and converted it into bass, drums, and a snare drum.

And from nothing, we have beautiful music!

Bravo, Mr. Puth! Bravo!!!
