The Last Man on Earth is finally back on Fox tonight at 9:30p and Kristen Wiig stars in the standalone episode that shows us for the first time what it was like when the virus killed almost everyone on Earth.
When we first met Phil Miller (Will Forte) the virus had almost wiped out most of the people on Earth, but we never knew what it was it was like when it was happening. In the first two and a half seasons, we have gotten glimpses of what it was like, but tonight Kristen Wiig finally shows us what really happened.
Pamela Brinton (Wiig) is a rich socialite who heads a foundation that helps dogs like her best friend Jeremy. The episode starts off with her holding a fundrasing gala and then one of the party goers suddenly collapses with blood coming from his nose. It is the first sign they will see of the virus and yet they don’t know how serious it is going to get.
In the coming days her husband and her eat breakfast as nothing going is on. Then she goes on a car ride and that is when she starts to see just how serious it is. There is one image that convinces her it is much more worse than she thought. When she gets home, she is convinced that there is a cure in the works. That is until a very funny gag that will have you applauding proves her wrong.
As time goes on the only survivors are just her husband, her, Jeremy and her arch nemesis Catherine. Catherine and her husband bought an underground bunker to go to until a cure is found. They never make it and neither does Pamela’s husband.
Pamela grabs Jeremy and they move into the bunker where they will spend the next few years. For over half of the episode, it is just her talking to her dog as they try to make time go by faster as they believe they are the Last Two Living Things on Earth. One of those ways to keep themselves busy is a drone and it gives her a glimpse of what the outside world looks like. One day, she will find out that there is life outside the bunker and that is when she will decide to go out to find those other people. And that is where the episode ends. `
Just when you think that Kristen Wiig can’t top herself, she does something like this. The Last Man on Earth gets better each week and tonight’s episode is just another shining example of that.
My only complaint is that we have to wait another week to find out what happened to our original Last People!
Tonight at 9p on Fox’s Family Guy, Peter dresses up as Santa Claus and realizes all the benefits that come with the costume. Since he is Peter, he takes advantage of anything and everything, and the real Kris Kringle doesn’t like it. Thus, he has a talk with him and puts him on his naughty list. But it is the man in red who gets naughty with him. Will Peter keep doing what he is doing or will Santa win?
He isn’t the only bad Griffin in the family, Brian and Stewie crash Office Christmas parties. One time they go too far and it might finally teach them the lesson they need.
This is not your happy Christmas special, but it definitely is a very funny one.
Then at 9:30p on Fox’s The Last Man on Earth’s Fall Finale, it looks like everyone might not make it back for the Spring premiere.
Now that they found Melissa (January Jones) it still seems like she is lost. Erica (Cleopatra Coleman) and Lewis (Kenneth Choi) try to convince Todd (Mel Rodriguez) to lock her up until they know she is back to being her old self. He tells them no and then she goes missing again. Will they find her again this time?
Then there is Gail (Mary Steenburgen) who is still stuck in that elevator in the building next door, and no one is looking for her. She see a Roomba just outside the elevator, and tries to get it to her so she can put a message on it. Will her plan work?
Finally, Tandy (Will Forte) and Carol (Kristen Schaal) go on their long postponed honeymoon! He takes her fishing, but are there any fishes left for them to catch? Then a miracle happens, they catch a fish.
Tonight’s episode is another touching one that makes you both laugh and cry at the same. Plus, we get the return of Will Forte dressed up as a dinosaur and that is the best thing we’ve seen on television all season long.

One of the things that we are thankful this year is that Fox decided to merge the animated world with a live-action one on Son of Zorn. Tonight at 8:30p on Fox, it is Thanksgiving and Zorn wants to spend it with his son (Johnny Pemberton), his ex-wife (Cheryl Hines) and her fiance’ (Tim Meadows). Only problem his ex-mother in law is also coming for dinner and she hates him. Edie tells Zorn to stay home, but he doesn’t listen. He accidentally serves his monster in law a poisonous cake and she dies. How he is going to get himself out of this one? You have to see it to believe it.
And you thought that Thanksgiving dinner was crazy.

Then at 9:30p, The Last Man on Earth reminds us, it as much about heart as it is humor.
Phil Miller (Will Forte) finds out that today is Lewis’ (Kenneth Choi) anniversary and Tandy wants to take him to Seattle to find out if maybe his husband survived the Virus. Lewis obviously doesn’t want to go with him, but Miller has his ways. The two drive all the way to Lewis’ house. Will he get a surprise when he gets there? Will the two enemies finally become friends after this road trip alone?
Back at their new digs, Carol (Kristen Schaal) asks Gail (Mary Steenburgen) to be her baby’s grandmother and she refuses. Since Carol is just like her husband, she has her way of convincing people to do what she wants. Then when Carol asks Gail to sign adoption papers to make it official, She refuses and that causes Carol to cry uncontrollably. Gail has her reasons and they will break your heart.
Tonight’s episode is the perfect mix of laughs and tears and no show does it better than The Last Man on Earth.
Thank you Will Forte this gem!
Will Forte was on Live with Kelly today and during a commercial break she asked him about his back hair. The Last Man on Earth told her that when he does shirtless scenes on the funny Fox show, you can sometimes see them when his back is back lit. Production asked him if he wanted them to be digitally removed and he said no.
I never noticed them, but next time he takes his shirt off, you know I will be looking out for them. And I know you will be too.
Now when it comes to Josh Groban, too bad they cut off his answer. I will just assume the front matches the back!
The Simpsons are back for a 28th season tonight at 8p on Fox, but something is missing. When that missing item is replaced, it destroys the Springfield. The Mayor promises to rebuild, but he doesn’t have the money. They ask Mr Burns to give them the money, but he has a condition. Will Lisa be able to fulfill to that condition or will she Lisa it?
The Simpsons might be 28, but it never gets old.

Then at 8:30p, Son of Zorn is going to learn about love from his dad. What can wrong? Everything. But by the end of the episode Zorn learns a little thing about love in this sweet episode of the original show that combines animated and live action.
Finally, Fox saved the best for last as in The Last Man on Earth. The season premiere at 9:30 picks up when their finale left off and the 3 men in radioactive protective suits are storming towards them. Our sensational six (Will Forte, Kristen Shaal, January Jones, Mary Steenburgen, Cleopatra Coleman and Mel Rodriguez) try to get away, but they are blocked in by Todd’s (Rodriquez’s) A-team van. They have no choice to confront the three men coming at them. When the mysterious strangers enter the house, Melissa (Jones) shoots one and it is a surprise A-List guest. He will not be back for another episode, but what about the rest of the cast? Are they destined for more episodes?
I won’t answer that, but I will tell you this is their funniest episode to date and they have all been pretty hysterical.
