Dwayne Johnson is a good son, so he took his mom with him when he was on Good Morning America yesterday. He quickly regretted that decision when Michael Strahan revealed that he knew what DJ’s nickname was as a kid. Mamma Rock called him dew drop as a baby, then doo doo and finally, now she calls him Dewy! The former wrestler actually blushed when all those names were revealed, which was sweet.
Talking about wrestling, as you know The Rock’s dad Rocky Johnson was a very famous one. But did you know that his father was one of the first celebrities to grant a Make-a-Wish back in 1983? That is a tradition DJ has continued and will continue to do as long as he can. On every movie set, he makes sure to dedicate one day to make those kids feel very special. Whatever they want, he gets them and they all have a day they will never forget. Which is what Make-a-Wish is all about.
That is not the only tradition that he does on every movie set. He also has a different scent for each movie that he works on. He does not remember what they all are, but each time it is something new. Wonder what he will wear to taunt Kevin Hart when they film Jumanji 2. Because you know he loves to torture his buddy and we love to watch it happen.
The Rock is in China to promote his move Skyscraper that comes out on Friday and they really seem to like him. That or they never saw anyone like him before. I am thinking it is a mixture of both because there are not many people quite like him. Which is a good and bad thing. Uniqueness is a good thing but it is a bad thing more celebs do not have his huge heart.
There is a cat known as Buff Cat because he is muscular. My cat is like him, except her muscles are all fat and fur.
Anyways, there is a writer’s assistant on Conan and she has a little 3-pound Chihuahua called Dwayne “The Dog” Johnson. When she saw Buff Cat, she wanted to make her puppy just like the kitty. After several strength training lessons, it worked! Now he is so strong that he can pull a refrigerator all by himself. Take that, The Rock.
I was so impressed by The Dog that I gave my cat some lessons. She is home alone and I am in the hospital getting a blood transfusion. But at least she got a workout and I lost a pound too. A pound of blood.
Seriously though, I love how they say you should never work with animals and this pooch showed us why. Give him some loving and he will come over to you and give you some back!
The Rock’s action movies have a way of giving you such an adrenaline rush that your heart is still racing long after you left the movie theater. After I saw San Andreas, I was driving home in such a panic, thinking any second now the earth was going to start quaking. Then I was wondering why I was driving towards it and not away from the epicenter that was featured in the film. At that point, I realized I was still on stable ground and then I was cursing him out for releasing a movie like that. Someone who was at the University of Miami for Hurricane Andrew should not be making disaster films that alums like me, who now live in LA, are going to see. So not over that DJ.
Anyways that was a few years ago, this year he has a new summer blockbuster film coming out. Another disaster film, but this one is about an Skyscraper on fire because the terrorists want something from inside of it. Something only DJ can get and they will hold his family hostage until he gets. I did not think that any movie could top The Towering Inferno, but this one might come pretty close.
I don’t know about you, but I will be there to see on July 13th. Although, this time I will make someone else do the driving. Preferably someone who does not live in a Skyscraper.
In the last 6 months, both Kevin Hart and The Rock welcomed babies. In November, Hart became a father to his second son, Kenzo Kash and last month Dwayne Johnson said hello to his third daughter, Tiana.
While both of them have been sharing photos of their newborns, I never realized until now how much each of their kids looks exactly like the other one. You know, they have made so many movies together that maybe their baby mamas got them confused on the night of conception. I mean they look so much, no they don’t. They are complete opposites in every way.
When it comes to who has the uglier baby? I love you DJ, but man you are one fugly baby.
