ABC wakes up from a nightmare and pulls Dream Vote
March 29th, 2007 under Game Shows, The Osmonds. [ Comments: none ]

According to Zap2It, ABC has pulled the low-rated The Great American Dream Vote after two whole episodes. The show premiered after Dancing with the Stars to dismal ratings and only went down from there. Dream Vote placed last in its timeslot yesterday and today ABC ended the nightmare before it could do any worse. Poor Donny Osmond, I was hoping he would be back on TV for a longer period of time. Oh well I guess it gives him more time to plan The Osmond Family Reunion.

The Osmonds might reunite for a TV Special!!!
March 23rd, 2007 under 70s, The Osmonds. [ Comments: none ]

Reuters has this great interview with Donny Osmond (yes I still think he is so cute) and in the interview he reveals that The Osmonds are talking about doing a TV special. “I haven’t done a show with my brothers for 25 years or so. We are talking about doing a TV special, and maybe something with (sister) Marie, but nothing is locked in yet.” I hope they do it because you know it will be great and cheesey fun! And they need to have Marie do it, it wouldn’t be the same without her.
BTW how corny was the opening to their cartoon! And corny is a good thing!!!

Donny Osmond is ABC’s Dream
February 19th, 2007 under Reality TV, The Osmonds. [ Comments: none ]

Donny Osmond has signed on to host ABC’s upcoming unscripted series "The Great American Dream Vote." The show features eight contestants who reveal a lifelong dream to the studio audience, explaining why they think it deserves to be fulfilled. Contestants will square off, and the studio audience will cast votes, eliminating entrants over several rounds. By the end of each show, two finalists will remain. Then viewers at home will have the opportunity to vote on which of the two most deserves to have his or her dream realized, with the results being disclosed at the opening of the following week’s episode. ABC has not set a premiere date for "Dream Vote," whose executive producers are also behind the network’s "Bachelor" series.

This show has failure all over it. I give it 4 weeks at the most.

AARON NEVILLE ON THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS TODAY via Soap Opera Digest
The opening of Neil’s new jazz club, Indigo, may have been Aaron Neville’s first gig in daytime, but the R&B legend is no stranger to Genoa City. "I work my schedule around THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS," Neville shares. "No interviews when Y&R is on! Everyone respects that, so they don’t mess with me at the wrong time. They leave me alone. I also buy the magazines and get the heads-up on what’s happening. When I can’t watch, my sister, my wife and my daughter tape it for me and give me the lowdown. ‘What is Victor up to?’" Just like his pal Aretha Franklin, another outspoken Y&R fan. "We talked about the show when we did the national anthem for the Super Bowl [XL, in February]," he confirms. "You have to talk Y&R, you know!" Needless to say, Neville was thrilled when he was offered a chance to perform at the Oct. 27 opening of Indigo. "I have a record out, Bring It on Home… The Soul Classics, and I was invited to come on, so it worked out real cool," he says. "I played a couple songs ("Stand by Me" and "Ain’t No Sunshine") from the album." And with the cast piling onto set to hear the legend perform, Neville got to hobnob with Genoa City locals. "I was in awe, looking at all my favorite characters," he admits. "Eric (Braeden, Victor) was cool, man. Just like I pictured. I’m trying to figure out where [this epilepsy storyline is] going to end up. He’s got to come to his senses! He’s ruthless on the show, but [everyone I met here] is nice. "

DONNY OSMOND ON ALL MY CHILDREN via Starpulse
Donny Osmond will guest star on ABC’s All My Children. He will play himself in scenes with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), as she celebrates the second season premiere of "New Beginnings," the fictitious talk show within the show.

CLAY AIKEN ON DAYS OF OUR LIVES via People
Claymates will get a special Christmas present this year: Clay Aiken will be appearing on the NBC daytime drama Days of our Lives as himself, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. On the show, the American Idol phenomenon will perform "Everything I Have," a song from his new album, as part of a private concert for Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) in the local Salem club called Dune.

I can’t wait to see Clay sing to Patch and Kayla! I bet it will be so romantic and sweet!
