I guess no wants to be a millionaire anymore?
May 18th, 2019 under Game Shows. [ Comments: none ]

Did you know that Who Wants to be a Millionaire is still taping new episodes? Well, not anymore because Variety says that the show is out of lifelines. No word, if the producers when they heard the news, they asked the executives, “Is that your final answer?”

The game show debuted on ABC’s primetime schedule in 1999 with Regis Philbin as the host. When it went into syndication it was hosted by Meredith Vieira, Cedric the Entertainer, Terry Crews, and Chris Harrison.

Yes Whammy! Yes Whammy! Yes Whammy!
March 13th, 2019 under Game Shows. [ Comments: none ]

ABC announced today that it is bringing back Card Sharks and Press Your Luck! The two popular game shows will begin filming in the spring after they find hosts for the shows.

Press Your Luck needs someone fun maybe like Ken Jeong. While Card Sharks needs someone a little more Vegassy like Donny Osmond. I know, they did that show on that other network, so that might be why they are so fresh on my mind.

Who do you think they should get to host, what I assume will be, the summer shows?

Watch a contestant fall on down on The Price is Right!
February 21st, 2019 under Game Shows. [ Comments: none ]

Tracy was so excited that she was asked to come on down on The Price Is Right, that she fell down just before she made it to Contestant’s Row. Something that Drew Carey was not going to let slip. He even joked with her that “maybe, later on, she could win a motorcycle.”

Guess what prize she was going for? You guessed it, a motorcycle. Did she win it? Not only did she win the wheels, but she also won the computer, a trip (no pun intended) to London and a car. It worth tripping on national TV to win an international trip (pun intended) and all those other prizes!

Is this worst thing that can happen on The Price Is Right?
January 24th, 2019 under Game Shows. [ Comments: none ]

You think missing the price of the Showcase Showdown by going over a dollar is the worst thing that can happen to a contestant on The Price Is Right. Think again.

The worst thing that can happen to someone on the game show happened to Tara Armstrong. The Announcer called her name and no one jumped up screaming. They used the camera to pan the audience and she was nowhere to be seen. That is because she was in the bathroom. Therefore, she had to finish up what she was doing and run back in.

When she did, she high fived everyone as she ran towards the stage. I don’t know if I would have done that because we don’t know if she washed her hands after she was done on the toilet. Who knows what she was doing when they called her name? Maybe it is better they do not know.

BTW According to Today, it happened once before. Back in 1976, Patricia Bernard was called, but she was busy answering another call. That is when her husband and a page ran out to get her. Not a bad record, twice in 46 years! I am surprised it does not happen more often.

Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek won’t be retiring until at least 2022
October 31st, 2018 under Game Shows, Jeopardy. [ Comments: 2 ]

Despite Wheel of Fortune’s Pat Sajak and Jeopardy Alex Trebek hinting about retiring soon, today we found out that that will not be happening for at least another four years. That is because Sony Television announced today that they renewed both of their contracts and Vanna White’s through 2022. Meaning they will not be going anywhere for a while.

Which is a good thing because their game shows are one of the few constants that we have and we need that in this mad mad world.
