Tonight at 9p on The CW, get to know Life Sentence on The CW because you will not regret it. For the last 8 years, Stella (Lucy Hale) was prepared to die and now she is being told her cancer is in remission. Seems like that would be the best thing ever for her and her family? Guess again.
When Stella was diagnosed with cancer, her doctor told her family to make her life perfect for her. That positivity could help her possibly help her beat it and that is exactly what they did for her. When she finished chemo about a year beforehand, they sent her to Paris. While she was there she met her husband, Wes (Elliot Knight). He too did everything for her like giving her candle sex every night because it might be her last.
When she finds out she is going to live, she tells her family and they are all excited for her. It is the next day that she finds out the truth. Her mom (Gillian Vigman) and dad (Dylan Walsh) have not been happy for ages and they decide to split. In fact, her mom has been in love with her best friend, Poppi (Claudia Rocafort), and now they are finally acting on their feelings. Her married sister (Brooke Lyons), hates her kids and her job. She only had kids because she wanted her parents to be happy while her sister was dying. Her brother (Jayson Blair) gave up on life when he thought his sister was not going to have one. To make matters worse, her dad says they are going to have to sell the house to pay for her all of her medical bills.
That is a lot for Stella to handle and you thought dying was the worse thing she ever had to deal with. Now that her family and her husband can be themselves around her, they are all going to have to adjust to her life sentence. Can they do it?
You will not want miss this sweet drama that no matter how bad things get, they are still a family. Which is why I say it is a feel good show. But then again, Hale’s huge puppy dog eyes make everything seem like it is going to be OK in no matter what role she plays.
Ever since we got to know mommy UPN and daddy The WB, we only saw them 5 days a week. Then they got together and their child The CW took over for them. Now, that he is 12 years old, we are going to get to watch him 6 days a week in the fall.
Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW said, “By expanding to six nights, The CW is now able to give our fans even more of the series they’re so passionate about. Broadcasting remains the foundation of our multi-platform approach to bringing our programming to viewers.” iZombie and Crazy Ex Girlfriend better be two of the shows that will be back next year since they have 2 extra hours of programming. Although, they might add a 6th DC Comics show because they can never have enough.
Last week, The CW announced that they ordered a pilot for a Charmed reboot and one of the stars took to Twitter to express her displeasure for it. Holly Marie Combs Tweeted, “While some may not get why I take issue with the network that didn’t want to renew Charmed 12 years ago ‘reimagining’ it now let me just say I understand it perfectly. Also this kinda stuff given all that Rose and Alyssa have done lately…um no. Just No.”
Then her co-star and TV sister asked a very obvious question that many of us pondered. Shannen Doherty wrote, “So curious… if it was not a reboot and just was a show about sisters and family dynamics with super natural powers…. thoughts?”
Why do networks insist on calling a show a reboot when the only thing it has in common with the original is the names of the characters are the same. Would we like Dynasty more if they just made a show about spoiled rich people? How about MacGyver, well I never got the passed the pilot. And so on. Why not just make a show with kind of the same premise and give everyone new names? I don’t know about you, but I am sick of reboots that have nothing with the original.
There is a huge difference between reimagining a show and going way off the rails of one. How do you feel about reboots that have nothing to do with the original?
And don’t get me started on the trend of turning big screen movies into television shows.

If you are like me, then you have been dying to know when iZombie will be back. Well it is time to come out of your caskets and feed on some brains because the Zombie procedural will be back on its new night February 26th. Not only did The CW announce when that show will be back, they also announced when Life Sentence, The Originals and The 100 will also be premiering.
As we know Black Lighting, their newest superhero drama, debuts next Tuesday at 9p after The Flash. Then on February 26th, iZombie moves to Mondays at 9p after DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. On March 7th, the heartwarming drama Life Sentence with Lucy Hale premieres. In April on the 20th, Dynasty is banished to Friday at 8p followed by the season premiere of The Originals’ final season. Jane the Virgin concludes its fourth season the week beforehand. Finally, on the 24th of April, The 100 is back on Earth for another season.

When The CW announced that they were remaking Dynasty people were curious what they were going to do with the show, and then the interest stopped once it aired. It wasn’t as cheesy as the original and the changes they made for the characters have not worked. Don’t get me started on the actress who plays Cristal. Basically, it is not that good and it is not doing well in the ratings. Yet it got a full season pick up.
What to do? Bring in Heather Locklear like they did with Spin City and both Melrose Places? She is, sorry to say, too old for this younger version of the series. Therefore, they are going for the next blonde bitch on the list to play Alexis Carrington and they got Nicolette Sheridan. Can the Paper Doll save the show? We shall see, but I will not hold my breath. Although it would be nice if the Desperate Housewife can breath life in to the nighttime soap that is barely watchable. And can I say that because I watch.
