The only people that should’ve been depressed yesterday were the Seattle Seahwawks and their fans, but that was not the case. Anyone who watched the game on television felt the need to drown their sorrows after they watched some of the ads. Nationwide killed off a kid, Nissan was all about an absentee dad and Budweiser told the tale of a missing dog, how can you not be depressed after that? Even Angry Liam Neeson changed his emotion to Sad Liam Neeson. You know it is bad when you look forward to a toe fungus commercial.
So let me get this right, ads that are too sexy should be banned, but ones with a dead kid are OK? Time to reevaluate where we stand on Super Bowl commercials. Can we go back to happy, stupid, over the top advertisements in 2015?

Steven Tyler watches the Super Bowl like a dude!
February 1st, 2015 under Aerosmith, Super Bowl. [ Comments: none ]

Bronx born Steven Tyler loves his New England Patriots, so he made sure to go to the Super Bowl to see them play. So while everyone in the stadium had their eyes focused on the field, he was more interested in getting some rays. Can’t say I blame him because the game wasn’t kind of a snooze.

Yesterday’s Super Bowl was the most watched TV program ever!
February 3rd, 2014 under Sports figures, Super Bowl. [ Comments: none ]

Not only did the Seattle Seahawks clobber the Denver Broncos, they clobbered in the ratings too. Yesterday’s Super Bowl was watched by 111.5 million people, making it the most watched television program ever according to Deadline.
So even though the teams were not as big as some of the others, the halftime show was with a virtual unknown to most of the viewers and the Broncos only scored one touchdown, people still tuned in to watch and stayed. I don’t know why this surprises me because I actually predicted this on Twitter yesterday, but I did it as a joke. Now we find out it is the truth.
So I guess the best way to get people to watch, is not to have all the glitz and glam you normally have for football’s biggest night.

Did The Simpsons predict this year’s Super Bowl?
January 31st, 2014 under Super Bowl, The Simpsons. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 2005 on The Simpsons 17th season premiere, Homer Simpson was watching a football game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos just like the two teams playing during Sunday’s Super Bowl game. So who did the animated sitcom predict would win this year’s big game 9 years ago? They said it would be Denver by 5. So did they get it right? We will just have to wait two days to find out. If they did, then that is really freaking cool!!!

Kitten Bowl is coming in 2014!!!
April 5th, 2013 under Hallmark, Super Bowl. [ Comments: none ]

For almost 50 years we have had the Super Bowl and for nearly a decade we have watched the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Well in 2014 Hallmark Channel is adding the purrfect companion for these two because they announced today that they will be doing Kitten Bowl as part of their Pet Project.
You know this is the first game where it is OK for the players to be as catty as they want to be!
Kudos to Hallmark Channel for scoring a touchdown with this programming alternative for us cat lovers on Super Bowl Sunday. I have a black and cat white who says she is dressed up to be a referee.

This post is dedicated to my late dear friend Nancy Carr, who worked as a publicist at Hallmark Channel. She would’ve loved this even more than I do. She was a huge cat lover and the best friend they could’ve asked for. I am sure she will be cheering them on from The Rainbow Bridge with her cats and mine.
