Over the weekend, 30 Rock was filled with celebrities who were celebrating Saturday Night Live’s 50th. What happens if you put a lot of people in a packed room these days? COVID! And SNL was no different.
Steve Martin revealed two of the people who came down with it. “Maya had Covid. Marty has Covid. I wonder why? The SNL 50th Covid curse is real.”
Because Short tested positive, they have to reschedule this weekend’s date until October. It is not all bad news for those who were supposed to because Steve promised them, “I think we’ll be funnier then, anyway.” As if they could get any funnier than they already are.
When it comes to “the SNL 50th COVID curse,” Martin has not said anyone else who got it. But with so many older legends there, like Garrett Morris, Cher, Lorne Michaels, Jack Nicholson, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, Meryl Streep, Jane Curtain, Bill Murray, Billy Crystal, and Steve Martin, who were there, I hope it was none of them.
Back in 1986, Steve Martin Short and Chevy Chase saddled up for The Three Amigos, and they delighted audiences with their hilarious western.
Now, almost 38 years after the release of their movie, they reunited when Chase went to see his dos amigos perform at Foxwoods.
I never thought we would see them together again (because Chase is Chase), but here they are. And this photo brought me such joy.
Maybe they will do a sequel where they return to Santa Poco. Imagine these three men, who are all over 70, trying to recapture their glory. Picture them trying to get on the horses like they used to. It would be hysterical. Hollywood make this happen! I won’t sue if you like my idea!
Steve Martin is a walking piece of art. So it makes sense that his clothes would turn into art when he walks by art.

Who knew besides acting, making us laugh, and playing the banjo, he is also a magician. What can’t he do? Besides, get Martin Short under control. But, then again, no one can do that.
Martin Short has Meryl Streep, so does Steve Martin have Carol Burnett? This photo from yesterday’s Emmys seems to suggest that. But alas, it is just two legends admiring each other.
While they don’t have anything to tell us…yet I hope that Dan Foggleman makes Burnett’s dream of working with Streep come true and casts her for the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building. The funny lady can play the Oscar winner’s eccentric, rich aunt who needs to live with Loretta Durkin because she is getting older and can’t take care of herself anymore.
