Yesterday on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Bill Murray performed a 7 minute medley of three songs from West Side Story with Jan Vogler & Friends. Somewhere, I Feel Pretty and America are just three of the songs on their album New Worlds that is out now.
When it comes to the performance, it is no Cher, but it will leave you smiling. Who doesn’t love to see Murray belting out, “I Feel Pretty!” The best moment comes at the very end when he sings this line from America, “Puerto Rico’s in America!” He got a huge applauds for a line that was written over 60 years ago. Wonder if Stephen Sondheim knew how powerful that line would be in October of 2017 to a President who does not seem to understand that?

Daniel Craig has played James Bond for times since 2005, and the actor told Stephen Colbert yesterday on The Late Show that he thinks the 5th time will be his last. He explained his decision as, “I just want to go out on a high note and I can’t wait.”
When it comes to his previous comments of that he would rather slash his wrists than play the part again, he said that question was asked to him 2 days after wrapping up Spectre. After working on an action film, you can understand why he would say that.

As soon as Tom Cruise announced that Top Gun 2 was happening, Val Kilmer has been very vocal that he would love to be in it. Iceman is not the only one from the 1986 movie who wants to be in the sequel, Anthony Edwards, who played Goose, made a video for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on why he should be in Top Gun: Maverick even though his character was killed off. He says he can play Ghost Goose. But I say if the Roseanne revival can revive Dan, why can’t Top Gun resurrect Goose? We need him like we have the need, the need for speed. Let us start a petition that Goose should not be goosed from the sequel!
If you are like Stephen Colbert and me, then you probably have wondered at some point how Ice Cube got his name. Well, unlike us, The Late Show host had the chance to ask him, so he did. That was when he explained how is brother gave him the name that he would be known as for the rest of his life.
O’Shea used to try to talk to his older brother’s girlfriends when the called, and then one day, Clyde gave him a little warning to stop doing that. Cube shared that story on the CBS late night show, “Back in the day when you had an old refrigerator, they would push it on the curve and guys would come by and pick it up. My brother was like, ‘Yo, you know, that refrigerator down the street? Take you down there, I’m slam you in the freezer when they pull you out, you are going to be Ice Cube.'” After that threat, the actor ran and told his friends not to call him O’Shea anymore because he was going by Ice Cube. To this day, he has kept that cool name!
As cool as it is, I was hoping for a much cooler explanation. Like he and his friends had an ice cube eating contest and he won. Or on a hot Compton day, he sat on an ice cube until it melted. Or under difficult a situation, he remained as solid as an ice cube. Or he got into a Fist Fight (I loved that movie) with someone and took them out with a sock full of ice cubes? How did you think he got the name?
