Freddy Krueger might be invincible, but Robert Englund is not
May 18th, 2017 under Robert Englund, Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

You know how they tell actors to break a leg? Well Robert Englund accidentally took them literally because somehow he broke his foot. He didn’t say how he did it, so we are left to assume how. I will say he did it by tripping over all the bodies of the teenagers he killed because Freddy Krueger and him are the same person. Right?

I know his pain. Back when I was 20, I broke my foot in a car accident. Like him, I had an open cast. Unlike him I had kitten in heat with long claws showing by broken wing some love instead of dog kissing the booboo trying to make it feel better. His is cute and mine left me crying in pain.

Back to the dog licking his foot, how cute is to see one of the cinema’s scariest actors get some arforable care? It doesn’t make him seem so terrifying.

Here’s little tip to him, he will need those metal claws to get to those inevitable itches you can’t scratch. I wish I had them, instead I used one the sticks from those huge lollipops because those plastic knives on the A Nightmare on Elm Street glove do not do it. I tried it.

Loretta Lynn might be 85 years old, but that hasn’t stopped her from touring. Yesterday, she was forced to postpone her show and her people explained why on her site.

American country music legend Loretta Lynn was admitted into a hospital in Nashville Thursday night after she suffered a stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

She is currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery.

Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating. Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed.

Her people are expecting her to be back on the road because they told her fans, who had tickets to the postponed shows, to check her site for the new dates. Here’s to hoping she is back doing what she loves in no time.

Charlotte Rae has bone cancer
April 27th, 2017 under Sick Bay, The Facts of Life. [ Comments: none ]

Five days ago Charlotte Rae turned 91 years young, but last Monday her doctors gave her some bad news. The beloved actress told People that they told her she was diagnosed with bone cancer.

She also told them that about 7 years ago, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The Facts of Life star opted to through six months of chemo and was cancer free after the treatment. That was then, she says, “So now, at the age of 91, I have to make up my mind. I’m not in any pain right now. I’m feeling so terrific and so glad to be above ground.” She continued her thought, “Now I have to figure out whether I want to go have treatment again to opt for life. I love life. I’ve had a wonderful one already. I have this decision to make.”

Even though she is a nonagenarian, she is still as feisty as ever. I hope she decides to fight it, but the decision is up to her. Whatever she decides, we will be there for her when she needs it.

Tim Daly broke both of his legs skiing
January 24th, 2017 under CBS, Sick Bay, Tim Daly. [ Comments: none ]

Tim Daly broke both of his legs while skiing in Sundance and will undergo surgery tomorrow. According to Variety, he will need 6-8 weeks to recover and that is causing the writers of his CBS’s show Madam Secretary to figure out how to deal with the situation. Will they work around him? Will they write it in to the show? Whatever they come up with it, they told the trade that he will still be seen in every episode and that few changes will be needed.
Doesn’t he know it is actors who are supposed to break legs and not the other way around? Seriously though, hopefully he will be better soon.

UPDATE: Tim Daly, 60, just Tweeted this update: “HUMANS!!! Broke my right ankle and left knee skiing. Simultaneously! How’s that for talent? I’m all good.” I have three words, “ouch and ouch!”

Granger Smith falls, gets up and plays with broken ribs and punctured lung
December 5th, 2016 under Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

They say Cowboys are rough and tumble and Country star Granger Smith proves that statement to be very true. The singer was performing in New Jersey on Friday when he fell off the stage and landed on metal barricade. Instead of waiting for assistance, he got up, made a joke and kept on singing.
After the show, he was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with two broken and separated ribs and a punctured, partially collapsed lung.
Let’s hope he is back on the road again in no time, although it sounds like nothing can keep him down for long.
