Way too much good television on tonight!
February 27th, 2013 under NBC, Syfy, The CW, TNT/TBS/TCM, USA Network. [ Comments: none ]

The night starts off at 8p with an episode of The CW’s Arrow that will leave you gasping every few minutes. Just when you think they can’t shock you anymore they surprise you again. Tommy’s (Colin Donnell) dad Malcolm (John Barrowman) invites his son to an event that he is being honored at, but he hesitates until Oliver (Stephen Amell) convinces him to go after a heart-to-heart conversation. A decision Oliver will later regret because an assassin has his Deadshot (Michael Rowe) eye on taking out Malcolm and Arrow will have to go in to try to save the day. By the end of the night Tommy and Oliver’s friendship will be changed forever and they will not be able to get back to where they were once at. Think that is enough to get you to want more, it is just preparation for the evening’s final reveal… So make sure to tune in for a game changing episode because so much happens that you can’t miss a single shocking moment.

Then at 8:30p NBC’s Guys with Kids stages a Cosby Show reunion when Marny’s (Tempestt Bledsoe) irresponsible younger sister Bridget (Keshia Knight Pulliam) comes for a visit. Instead of just giving her money, Marny decides that her sister should work for her husband to earn the dough. Gary (Anthony Anderson) is against this for obvious reasons. Is he right or will his sister in law actually wind up helping him? Meanwhile Chris (Jesse Bradford) and Sheila (Erinn Hayes) decide to have another baby even though they are divorced. Something his best friend, Nick (Zach Cregger) is vehemently against. Luckily for him Chris’ ex-girlfriend Sage comes back into the picture and now he will have to choose which ex to be with. The season finale ends with Gary singing a Kelly Clarkson song and let’s just say it doesn’t suck and neither does this great episode!

Then at 9p on TNT Donnie Wahlberg honors the people his brother and him spent a lot of unwanted time in their youth with and they are Boston’s Finest. It is inside look at entire Boston Police Department, including patrol officers, detectives, special task forces and members of the SWAT Team, the Fugitive Unit and highly decorated Gang Unit. Besides following them as they fight crime, we get to see what their lives are like when the badge comes off. In a way it is like the reality version Wahlberg’s CBS show, but set in Boston. You really go along for the ride with them and after you watch it you will want to tip your hat to these brave men and women. Wahlberg really gives these people the respect they deserve with this series.

Then at 10p Psych is back on USA and it picks up exactly where it left off. Shawn (James Roday) arrives just as his father Henry (Corbin Bersen) was shot. Now it is up to him to save his dad and get the man responsible for shooting him. Even though Jules (Maggie Lawson) and Lassie (Timothy Omundson) tell Shawn to sit this case out, he doesn’t listen. Will Shawn get himself into a situation he can’t get out of and does his dad survive? You will have to tune into find out!

Finally at 10p Stranded makes it debut on Syfy at 10p and this is an interesting twist on ghost hunter shows. Each week four everyday people will be sent to a location for 5 days to investigate if it is really haunted. They will be cut off from the world meaning no phones, no computers and no way to leave, and they will have nothing to do to but find out if there are any ghosts with them. They will be given the equipment to find out if they are alone or not and what they discover will not only spook them, it will do the same to you. I loved Stranded so much that when it gets picked up for a second season, I am so going to try to be on it.

Robot Combat League is for men who are still boys!
February 26th, 2013 under Syfy. [ Comments: 1 ]

Remember when you were younger and you played Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em ROBOTS with your friends? Well Syfy’s Robot Combat League that debuts tonight at 10p is the adult version of that board game. Each week 12 teams of two will battle it out in the ring with lifesize robots and the teams with the highest and lowest scores compete at the end of the show with a robot they made. The winner of each show goes on to the finale and compute, I mean compete to win the $100,000 grand prize. But the money is inconsequential when the teams realize they just played their favorite childhood board game with real robots made out of metal and not plastic!
So tune in for a game show that grown child boy wishes they could be a contestant on.

End of the World is anything but a disaster!
February 23rd, 2013 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p End of the World crashes down on Syfy and you don’t want to miss the disaster movie to end all disaster movies.
Owen Stokes (Greg Grunberg) and Steve Palmer (Neil Grayston) work in a video store and have watched every disaster movie ever made. Because of that they have been preparing for the end of the world. Then one day their dream will come crashing down as electric meteors hurl towards earth destroying everything and everyone in its path. It is up to them, Owen’s girlfriend Selena (Caroline Cave) and Steve’s mom (Merrilyn Gann) to stop the apocalypse. In order to that they will need to free mad scientist Dr. Walter Brown (Brad Dourif) from a mental institution because he knows how to end it. But with time running out and meteors destroying their path, their movie might not have a happy ending.
Tune in to see if watching disaster movies is the best doomsday prepper that anyone can ask for in this fun movie that airs on Syfy tonight at 9p.
Recently I was on a call with some of the cast and talked about some of the fun times they had making the movie.
Owen’s cousin Max (Mark Hildreth) is a douche who is trying to steal Selena away from him. In one scene the cousins battle it out and Greg Grunberg explained how much fun that scene was to film when Hildreth took it to a Three Stooges level. He said, “So you kind of go oh the next take I want to make it funnier and funnier and I’m going to go bigger and louder and it just got so ridiculous. It was a little bit of it in there though I got to say like I was happy.” Then he added, “I thought oh god these guys, you know, Syfy fans that run a, you know, an apocalyptic video store. The last guys who know how to fight or how to really protect themselves. You know, so it was such a sloppy, fun moment.”
This movie also helped to give Neil Grayston some much needed revenge for something that scared him when he was kid. He described a scene he did with Dourif, “There’s a certain point where I don’t drive manual in real life like I have before, but it always seems to be in the weirdest vehicles. Either it’s a crazy super powered sort of expensive vehicle like a Subaru WRX or it’s this van that we had that at a certain point was only running because one of the teamsters went underneath it with a bungee cord and did something, I don’t know. But somehow the engine was being held together with a bungee cord and there’s a certain point where I have to drive the van and I think that was maybe our first scene together Brad and there’s no seatbelts—there’s nothing—and I just sort of accelerated and kept on going because I was like I don’t want to stall this van on this take. We don’t have much time left in the day. Then the Eureka star added, “I think I might have given Brad a heart attack. But you know what? I was thinking about it. I think that’s payback for me being terrified by Chucky as a child but I’m just going to say that.” To which his childhood tormentor responded by saying “Good for you. I’m very glad I f*cked your childhood up. That’s my job.”
So look out for these scenes and many more fun ones tonight in End of the World on Syfy at 9p.

Alphas abilities can’t save the show
January 16th, 2013 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season according to TVLine. The network released a statement about the cancellation, “Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”
Personally I can understand their decision because the show lost its way in its second season. Although the show had an awesome season finale, so it is a bummer we won’t find out what happens next.

Syfy is about the Continuum of a Lost Girl Being Human tonight!
January 14th, 2013 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8p Continuum makes it debut on Syfy. Kiera (Rachel Nichols) is a cop in 2077, but when a mass execution goes wrong she finds herself traveling back to the year 2012. Now that she is by herself trying to recapture all of those terrorists.
In 2077, cops have an implant in their head where they can talk to someone who can tell them what is going on around them. In 2012, that technology is in the very very early stages of development. So she finds herself talking to Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen) who invented the technology. Now he is going to try to help her find those men, by using his smarts to help her out by giving her 2012 identity and teaching her about our time. She won’t be looking for those men all alone because she will be getting help from detective Carlos Fonnegra (Viktor Webster). But she can’t tell him that she is from the future and because of that he doesn’t trust her.
Now Kiera has to find a way home to the year 2077, but that isn’t looking like it might be possible. So til she gets back to her own time, she has to learn about ours. For example she has to learn how to drive a car!
Continuum has potential to be out latest Syfy addiction and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Then at 9p Being Human is back and so much happens. The episode takes place over a year after the season finale. Josh and Nora are living together trying to find their friends Sally and Aiden. Sally is still trapped in limbo and Aiden is still buried alive at an unknown location. Josh and Nora are doing everything they can to find them, but they are starting to give up. How much more can they can take and how many more fake psychics can they see before they call it a day? Will our favorite non-humans trying to be human ever be reunited? You will have to tune into find out because what happens is something you won’t see coming and I don’t want to spoil you. I would’ve been pissed if someone told me what happens next. What I will tell you is we will find out if Josh and Nora are still werewolves by the end of the episode, but that is all!

Then at 10p Lost Girl has its third season all locked up as in Bo goes to jail as a favor for Lauren. She is there to find out what is causing the prisoners at an all woman prison to disappear or change. And the scariest part is she pretty much all alone in this case. Will she get out alive or will our Succubus be locked up forever?
And did I mention we find out who the new Ash is? Think you know, guess again!
