Punky Brewster is back with all-new episodes on Peacock after a 36-year hiatus. Punky is all grown up with a family of her own.
Punky (Soleil Moon Frye) is recently divorced from her husband, Travis (Freddie Prinze Jr.), and she is raising their three kids. They have a teenage daughter, Hannah (Lauren Lindsey Donzis), who is raising her parents and brothers, Diego (Noah Cottrell) and Daniel (Oliver De Los Santos), who are adopted. She is trying to get her life back to normal, but her BFF Cherie (Cherie Johnson) throws a wrench into that plan.
Cherie asks her to foster a little girl named Izzy (Quinn Copeland), who is trouble just like Punky was back when they were kids. Cherie says it will only be for a short time, but it turns into a full-time living arrangement.
Punky’s kids are not sold on Izzy. Her husband Travis is back home and thinks he is still married to Punky. She is trying to get her photography career back on track. She is also going to try dating again. Dating is never easy. Nothing in Punky’s life is easy, but that won’t stop her.
That is because she has Punky power! Just like the sequel. It is a fun binge for fans of the OG series and people who have never seen it.
We all need something like this series in our life, so add it to your must binge list now.
Back in the ’80s, there were only a handful of videogames. There were Asteroids, Pitfall, Pong, and Frogger, to name a few. Now, Peacock is turning the latter one into a competition game.
What will the contestants do on Frogger? They will have to endure treacherous traffic, leap over snapping gators and hop over hungry hippos to conquer the course. Does this sound like something you want to do, then you can apply on the casting site?
Oh, there is one more thing. It is filming in Australia. Therefore, you better have your passports better be ready.
I loved Frogger as a kid, so I can’t wait to see how it turns out, even though it sounds more like Pitfall. Pitfall was my favorite game until my dad accidentally bought the one for Rocky Horror Picture Show.
On February 25th, Punky Brewster is all grown up and back with new episodes on Peacock TV. We know that her character is divorced from Freddie Prinze, Jr., but what about her BFF?
Today, we found out about her best friend’s love life. Cherie Johnson, who plays Cherie, will be dating someone special. “I am absolutely thrilled (SO excited) you accepted the invitation to be my girlfriend on the new Punky Brewster @jasikaistrycurious you are brilliant, beautiful and so kind,” Johnson wrote. “We are so lucky to have you join this melting pot Punky fam as ‘Cherie’s’ girlfriend, Lauren!” Jasika Nicole is best known for playing Astrid Farnsworth on Fringe.
This announcement makes me want to watch the sequel even more. I am happy they did make the show super sweet and innocent as its competitor would do.
When Peacock launched, they announced they were doing a reboot of Saved By the Bell with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley. Needless to say, the fans didn’t need caffeine pills to get so excited.
Therefore, when the show debuted on Thanksgiving, the ’90s kids, who spent their Saturday mornings with them, were excited to do it again. Especially, since they got a Zack Attack from Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, and Lark Vorhees.
However, it was not just about them, but it is also about the newest class. This season they took on many important topics such as race, inclusion, class, and education.
In other words, it has things for the original fans and the newer ones. Thus, it makes sense that the show got picked up for 10 more classes, I mean episodes.
When Peacock announced what shows they are rebooting at their launch party, I was most excited for Punky Brewster. Well, after months and months of waiting, the revival, that stars the show’s original actresses Soleil Moon Frye and Cherie Johnson, finally has a premiere date.
That date is February 25th. Valentine’s Day is coming a little late this year. Then again, what isn’t?
Until the sitcom starts streaming, I am just going to listen to the happy theme song over and over again because all of this makes me happy. Things we need more of in 2021!
As happy as I am, there is one thing missing from this photo. That thing is a dog. Punky needs a dog!
