Jay, Jay, Jay. Son, son, son, is coming to Peacock, thanks to Bryan Fuller, who pitched the prequel series to the streaming network. And they said, faster than Jason Vorhees can kill two teens making love at Crystal Lake.
On that note, that is the title of the series. And that is all we know about it, according to Deadline.
This is not the first time Fuller has taken it back before the original project. He also told Hannibal’s origin story and took us back ten years before the Enterprise took to the skies with Captain Kirk and Dr. Spock. So I have faith in him to do a good job with Jason Vorhees and his mom. After all, she did all of the killings before her son out on his hockey mask.
Fans of Community have wanted a film, and Peacock is giving them just that. Not only will they get a movie, but all six seasons will also be available on the streaming service. Therefore, finally fulfilling the prophecy that the series predicted.
“‘Six seasons and a movie’ started out as a cheeky line from Community’s early seasons and quickly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious and cool (cool, cool) NBC comedy,” said Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “We’re incredibly grateful that 15 years later, we are able to deliver fans this promised movie and can’t wait to get to work with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest, Joel McHale, Sony and our partners at UTV to continue this epic comedy for Peacock audiences.”
While Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong will all be back, Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, and Yvette Nichole Brown will not be. Who needs them anyways?
Peacock did not say when the six seasons and the movie will be coming, but at least we know they are coming.
Matthew Fox returns to TV in another suspenseful show that will leave you on the edge of your seat from the beginning until the end.
Last Light, which debuted today on Peacock , starts out with Andy Yeats (Fox) alone in an Arabian desert during a sandstorm. The show then travels back two days, and he is with his family celebrating his blind 8-year-old’s son birthday with his wife and older daughter, Laura (Alyth Ross). Elena (Joanne Froggatt) is getting ready for her son Sam’s (Taylor Fay) surgery that could reverse his blindness.
Elena expects her husband to be there with her, but the oil scientist is called away at the last minute by his company for an emergency. He promises his wife that he will be back in time for his son’s surgery.
However, when he gets to where they wanted him to go, he finds out that oil all over the world has been contaminated. Almost immediately, planes and cars start crashing, and power grids start failing.
It looks as though Andy will not make it back to his family. Not only for the surgery but in general. That is because he is one of the only people who can reverse the damage that has been done, and people are willing to kill him to stop that from happening.
So, Andy is going to do everything in his power, when there is none, to get back to his family. But also save the world from the crisis that is destroying it.
While we witness what he is going through, we will see how the rest of the world is suffering from the collapse of oil. It looks like the end of times. So will he make it back to his family and save the world from the chaos? We will have to tune in every Thursday to find out.
And we are going to want to find out because this could happen in our reality. Sometimes that is scarier than anything we can imagine. So this show could be considered a warning. And can prepare us for that…

And what is up with Diedre Hall making it sound like an ActionAid commercial? And why did I follow suit?
The American version of Queer As Folk is one of my favorite shows. It is because of that series I learned that I love to watch two men f*ck. Besides Gale Harold, that, and the topics they dealt with, it was such a meaningful show. But times were much different then. In the last 20 years, there have been so many advancements in LGBTQ rights and HIV so that drama would not be as relevant today.
Therefore, doing a new version of the show is not going to be the same. That is why the Peacock version of QAF feels more like The L Word than QAF. At least, that is how I felt after watching the trailer.
And can someone explain to me why a network that has cock in its name doesn’t have hotter men in the series? They don’t have to all be Brian Kinneys, but they need a f*ckable bad boy. Although, Harold didn’t like when I described his character as such.
