Peacock was asked if they wanted to be dealt in on a third hand of Poker Face, and they said no.
However, the dealer, Rian Johnson, is not done playing, so he is looking for new players to deal to.
But this time they are changing the Face card from Natasha Lyonne to Peter Dinklage as the lead.
Johnson told Deadline that it was always the plan to swap out leads every two seasons. I am sure that sounded good on paper, but in reality, I agree with Peacock.
Plus, season 2 was not as good because it was all about stunt casting, and not about the plot, which is why it probably didn’t do as well as the first season.
Before Natasha Lyonne was a menace in Poker Face, she was babysitting Dennis the Menace. She looks the same now as she did when she was 12 in that 1992 movie.
Back in the latter part of the 20th Century, detective shows knew how to have fun. But then, when the clock struck 2000, the murder of the week series became all about the blood.
But then, in January 2023, the clock turned back the hands of time, and Peacock gave us Natasha Lyonne as Poker Face. And for ten glorious episodes, we were able to watch Columbo meet Jessica Fletcher meet Frank Dresbin!
Ever since the season finale, we have been waiting for Charlie Cale to come back as the Human Lie Detector. And now we know she will be back on the case on May 8th.
For Season 2’s 12 episodes they’ve taken her journey to the next level one murder mystery at a time. From minor league baseball to big box retail, from funeral homes to alligator farms and even a grade school talent show, Charlie navigates her crime solving existential road-trip with deadpan wit, human empathy, and her signature uncanny lie-detecting ability.
After watching the trailer, I am even more excited for Charlie and her run in with the female Damien!
Poker Face will finally be back on Peacock on May 8th with three episodes and a lot of guest stars. How many? 52 in total, which is the same amount as there are cards in a deck of cards.

What the streamer left out in the description is a whole lot of funny. It is one of the most cleverly written shows on television.

Everyone who watches Poker Face on Peacock immediately falls in love with it. So it makes sense that the streaming service gave the throwback procedural from Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne a second season before the first one has even ended.
“Congratulations, PokerFaces!! ♥️♠️♦️♣️ @rianjohnson @peacock,” Lyonne wrote. “We’re so happy you like our show and can’t wait to make some more for you! #PokerFace 😎😎🃏♥️🛸”
I can’t wait to see what and who they give us in season two.
Seriously, if you are not watching, you are missing the best crime-solving show since Murder, She Wrote ended. That’s because they didn’t make shows like that anymore until Poker Face. So if you were addicted to shows like Quincy, Columbo, The Incredible Hulk, and Kolchak: The Night Stalker, then you are going to adore Lyonne and Johnson’s creation.
