Lady Gaga received her fourth Oscar nomination this year. Her single Hold My Hand from Top Gun Maverick is nominated for Best Original Song.
Therefore, we expected her to sing at tonight’s Academy Awards. However, on Wednesday, Oscar producer Glenn Weiss said she would not be performing because she is too busy working on Joker: Folie à Deux and wouldn’t be able to give an Oscar-worthy performance.
That was then. Today, Variety is reporting that she will be singing after all. She will be joined by Rihanna (Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, David Byrne (This Is Life from Everything, Everywhere, All at Once), Stephanie Hsu and Son Lux (Naatu Naatu from RRR), and Sofia Carson and Diane Warren (Applause from Tell It Like a Woman), who will be singing their nominated songs.
Do you think Lady Gaga will bring home her second Oscar statuette tonight? She previously won in this category for Shallow from A Star is Born.
Eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close was supposed to be a presenter at tonight’s Academy Awards, but she had to cancel on them at the last minute because she tested positive for COVID-19.
Her rep to the Associated Press that “she is isolating and resting.
Hopefully, she will be better soon.
As of now, the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences has not announced who will be replacing her. I think they should have someone dressed in a COVID red ball present for her.
Pauly Shore might’ve been the star of Encino Man, but it is his co-stars, Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan, who are nominated for Oscars this year.
How does the comedian feel about them being up for Oscar gold? “I’m very excited for my two costars from Encino Man; both nominated this year for Oscars. It’s quite remarkable. It’s an insane story. These guys — what a comeback. It’s almost like they were in Encino Man, they dethawed them, and they’re coming back to life, he told Good Morning America. “Congratulations, guys. Good luck, bros.”
Shore says he is going to watch the Oscars on Sunday to see if Quan wins Best Supporting Actor for Everything, Everywhere, All at Once and Fraser for Best Actor in The Whale.
Hopefully, they will each bring home an Oscar statuette and decide to make Encino Man 2 with Shore and past Oscar nominee Sean Astin. Maybe it will get The Weasle a nom from the Academy Awards so that he can have one like his co-stars.
Who would’ve thought that Encino Man would turn out so many people worthy of Oscars?
Lady Gaga’s song Hold My Hand from Top Gun Maverick was nominated for an Oscar, but she will not be performing at the Academy Awards even though she will be attending on Sunday.
Oscars executive producer and showrunner Glenn Weiss explained to Variety, “We invited all five nominees. We have a great relationship with Lady Gaga and her camp. She is in the middle of shooting a movie right now. Here, we are honoring the movie industry and what it takes to make a movie after a bunch of back and forth…It didn’t feel like she can get a performance to the caliber that we’re used to with her and that she is used to. So, she is not going to perform on the show.”
The actress has been busy filming Joker: Folie à Deux, and because of that does not have the time to prepare for a proper performance.
While she will not be singing, we will hear performances by Rihanna, Sofia Carson and Diane Warren, Stephanie Hsu, David Byrne and Son Lux, and Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.
Jamie Lee Curtis is 64 years old, a Hollywood legacy, and has been acting for over 45 years. Throughout her remarkable and diverse career, she has starred in many acclaimed movies and has been recognized for her work. But never by AMPAS.
Today, after all of her hard work, she is finally being recognized by the Academy Awards because she finally received her first Oscar nomination. She is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.
This is an honor that she has long deserved. Not only for her acting but also because she has inspired and mentored those who came after her and has remained humble throughout it all.
So, I say congrats to her and everyone else from Everything, Everywhere, All At Once for their 11 nominations. Hopefully, they will sweep the Oscars on March 12th.
