Tonight at 9p, The Masked Singer will grace the airwaves on Fox. It is the strangest singing competition you have ever seen. Yet it is actually really enjoyable.
It is not full of people vying for a record contract. It is not celebrities singing as other singers. It is not celebrities trying to pretend they can sing when they can’t. It is twelve celebrities in full-body costumes and we have to guess who they are. They are Grammy winners, Emmy winners and pro-athletes. That is all we know about them.
Each week they will compete and we get a new clue to who they are under all of that fabric that covers their bodies from head to toe. They will perform, in groups of 2, a song in front of a live audience and panelists, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke, and host Nick Cannon. After they are done, the panelists will ask them some questions to see if maybe they can guess what is their identity.
After each group of 2 performs, the audience and the panelists decide who they want to keep around. At the end of the night, the bottom person of each group will face another vote and the lowest scoring person goes home. This will keep on going until there is one.
Fox is so secretive about who is on the show, that they even blurred and bleeped out the losing contestants face and name on the two screener episodes they sent out. Thus, I don’t even know who they are. I think the person eliminated next week might be Tracy Morgan, but who knows, it can be anyone.
Although, wait until you hear the A-list celebrities they think are under the suits. They actually believe that Barack Obama might be one of the singers. Seriously, that is what he is going to do with his spare time? I think I am more on point when I tell you I think that La Toya Jackson is one of the competitors. That makes more sense, right?
Like I said, this is a show unlike any other. It so out there, that is truly enjoyable. It is like what did I smoke and can I have more of it. Who doesn’t need more of that these days?
"My mother went all the way to the abortion clinic and she heard a voice from within saying that she should keep this child…" Uncensored: @NickCannon, SUNDAY 10/9C pic.twitter.com/tVBdK1pXnx
This Sunday at 9p, Nick Cannon is going to be featured on TV One’s Uncensored. Something that almost did not happen according to the actor/singer/comedian.
Cannon reveals to them, “My mother went all the way to the abortion clinic, and she heard a voice from within saying that she should keep this child.” He says he tells his mom all the time, that was his way of telling her to let him live.
Not only does he talk about that, but he also talks about how being diagnosed with Lupus in 2012 has affected him. How there are days, he cannot get of bed because his body is paralyzed from the auto-immune disease. But he does not let that stop him.
Just those two reveals prove that this episode is going to be very raw and emotional. An episode you do not want to miss.
Justover 3 years ago, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey split up, and since then he has not really been attached to any other women. Even though he had a baby with another an ex-girlfriend last year.
Recently he sat down with Larry King, and the OraTV host wanted to know if he has anyone special in his life. Cannon told him, “Not at that level, no.” Then he explained, “I am not looking though. I feel like I am going to be single for the rest of my life.”
King, the man who has been married 8 times, then asked his guest if it is that bad being single. Cannon told him, “Not at all, I don’t understand why people are in a rush to tie themselves to another individual.”

We have seen singing competitions where the judges did not know what the singer looked like until they turned their chairs around. There have been other ones with celebrity competitors. And now Fox is combining both of those elements for their show The Masked Singer that debuts in January. Take that American, what is it called again?
Anyways each week, several celebrities will skip hair and makeup and wear a costume from head to head, hiding their true identity host Nick Cannon, the audience and the judges. The judges, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, will have to try to guess who they are. Then at the end of the episode, one singer will go home and we will find out who that masked singer is.
Who are these masked singers? According to Fox, “Between all of the celebrity competitors on the show, they’ve amassed 65 Grammy nominations, 16 multi-Platinum albums, 16 Emmy nominations, nine Broadway shows, four stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and four Super Bowl titles.”
Not bad. Too bad we have to wait 5 months to see it. Can’t they switch it up for another show because I want to watch it now!
Nick Cannon became a father yesterday to his third child and second son. The former host posted the above sweet photo on Instagram and said, “Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning! No matter how hard the world may hit you, God always reminds us of our purpose! #TrueHappiness Welcome to Earth Son! Golden “Sagon” Cannon 2/21/17 #Awakened”
Only thing is he didn’t mention his ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell, who is the baby’s mother. She did all the hard work and he doesn’t even give her a shout out? How messed up is that? I hope she is getting a big payout from him because she deserves some hefty child support after this. Who’s with me on that?
Cannon has 5 year old twins, Roc and Roe, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey.
