I do not know about you, but I love watching Unsolved Mysteries. In fact, I have been watching old episodes of the show on Tubi TV. Therefore, I am excited about the news I am going to share with you. According to Deadline, Netflix is bringing back the show for at least 12 episodes.

Unlike the original, they will focus on one case per episode. Which I am not wild about, but at least they are reviving the show.

No word who will host, sadly the two original hosts are not available. That is because Robert Stack and Dennis Farina are no longer with us.

With the return of Ripley’s Believe or Not on TBS and this show, when are we going to get a revival of Real People or Rescue 9-1-1?

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina cast a magical spell on Netflix!

When Netflix announced that they were remaking Sabrina the Teenage Witch, I thought they were spitting on our childhood. Turns out that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is so much better than the original. Mostly because Kiernan Shipka is just so gosh darn likable as Sabrina Spellman.

This show is honestly one of my top 10 favorite shows of the year because it was such an interesting and well-done twist on the story we already know. I am not the only person who loves it, so many others do. Lots and lots of other people. How many? We don’t know.

What we do know is that Netflix picked up the show for season 3 and 4 before the second season even begins airing on April 5th. Talk about believing in a show. That or the witches put a spell on Netflix and they had no choice. Hmmmm, I like my latter theory better.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is better than Sabrina the Teenage Witch

When I heard Netflix was doing their version of Sabrina the Teenage Witch by the people who destroyed the Archies aka Riverdale (where I grew up), I was very against it. Then when I saw the first few trailers for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I hated it even more. Then they released one more trailer (the one above) and I was suddenly curious about the remake.

After watching all 10 episodes from the first season, I am in love. This is a much darker version of the show we grew up with, but it works, It really works. Largely because Kiernan Shipka is just so gosh darn lovable as Sabrina Spellman. She plays her character with the perfect amount of innocence in a not so innocent world. A world where witches and mortals don’t really interact.

Except for Sabrina’s parents. Her father was the high priest of witches and her mom was mortal. When she was a young girl, her parents were killed and she was raised by her aunts Zelda (Miranda Otto) and Hilde (Lucy Davis). Zelda is an old school witch (that rhymes with bitch) and does everything by the book. Hilde is more modern.

Sabrina’s dad was unconventional and tried to change things for the better. Her mother was mortal. With all of that influence to shape her as a person, she is a mix of it all. Since she grew up in the mortal world and was raised by witches, she is torn between both worlds.

For her sixteenth birthday, she has to decide witch, I mean which, world she wants to live in. Which will she choose? There are consequences with both. A decision she will not take lightly and she will have to make compromises. Throwing her life into mayhem.

As she tries to live in both worlds, she will try to make changes to the old world order. That will be met with conflict from the leaders. Conflicts that will put her, her family and her friends into danger. She will also try to use her new powers to help her mortal friends. She does not know how to use it yet. When she does something very dark to save her boyfriend Harvey (Ross Lynch), she will put his life at risk. She will also cause him to do something that will change the way he looks at her forever.

Like I said, it is not the show we grew up with. It is so much better. My only complaint is that Salem doesn’t talk. That is it! Everything else from the stories to the casting to show itself is perfect as is!

Orange is the New Black is parolled
October 17th, 2018 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Orange is the New Black was one of Netflix’s first big shows and now it is ending. The women of Litchfield Penitentiary made the announcement today that next season will be the last one. And they promised it will be a good one.

Are you sad the show is ending? Or did you bail on it a long time ago like I did?

Chuck Lorre gets serious with Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin
October 12th, 2018 under Chuck Lorre, Michael Douglas, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Chuck Lorre has given us some of the biggest comedies over the last 30 years: Dharma & Greg, Grace Under Fire, Cybill, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly, Mom and Young Sheldon. That is a lot of funny television.

Now he is teaming up with Netflix to give us a dramedy starring two huge movie legends. Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin are partnering up in The Kominsky Method. The show is being described as, “On November 16, meet Sandy (Michael Douglas) and Norman (Alan Arkin), two lifelong friends who are navigating the ups and downs of life with humor, dignity, and some prostate trouble – reminding us that some friendships never get old.”

I think all of Lorre’s sitcoms have been leading up to this one show. The show that will finally change the perception that so many people have of him and realize he is one of the greatest executive producers to ever work in television.

Now the only thing I want to is will he do Vanity Cards for it?
