NBC announced today that they are doing one of my favorite three musicals for the next live production in the spring and I just want to know how they are going to do Hair. Not because of the production, but because of the words in the songs. I have been blasting the soundtrack in my car since I was a teenager and even I know what songs I could not have the windows down on. Some tunes they can skip, but others they will have to change a word or two and those are the words I scream the loudest. Plus, no nude scene…😢.
When Neil Moron was asking for which musical he should do next, I quickly suggested Hair because sadly it is relevant again under this administration. I am glad, I influenced them. Of course, I know I didn’t but I like I did.
On that note, who would I cast? I think Nick Jonas as George Berger because he has that gritty look about him. When it comes to Claude, I think Teen Beach’s Garrett Clayton would be perfect as the innocent man about to go into the army who gets a quick lesson about life, mother, in NYC.
I also hope that NBC will find a way to incorporate some of the people who were involved in the original productions like Treat Williams, Annie Golden, Meat Loaf and Diane Keaton into it. I have been into Treat ever since the first time I saw Hair as a little kid. Yes, my parents let me watch it as a kid and I have been obsessed with it since!
Hopefully, a new generation will love it as much as I do because there is so much to love about it!
Timeless gets a 2-hour season finale starting at 9p tonight that is so good, you do not want to miss it. Not only because it is entertaining but also because we need to save this show that makes history interesting.
In the first episode, they travel back to 1863 and the Civil War. They need to stop Rittenhouse from stopping Harriet Tubman so that South won’t win the war. Therefore, our guys pose as Union spies to protect our history. By doing so we get to see how truly bad a$$ Tubman is and why she deserves to be on our $20 bill.
Then for the second episode, Jiya (Claudia Doumit) is kidnapped by Jessica (Tonya Glanz) and taken to Rittenhouse. She escapes from them and gets lost in time. Eventually, Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) finds out when she is and they go back to save her in San Fransisco’s Chinatown. When Rufus, Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Flynn (Goran Višnjić) arrive in 1888, they go to the restaurant she was photographed and Rittenhouse has already beaten them to the location.
Now they are in a race against time to save Jiya before it is too late. The only problem, this is the time that Jiya had her vision when Rufus would die. Now, they have to not only get back to 2018, they need to all get back alive. Will they?
All leading to an ending that will make you curse out NBC if they do not pick up this show for a third season. It is one of the most shocking and exciting cliffhangers ever to end a season in TV history. Which is fitting for a show about history.
NBC announced their fall schedule today and I am already addicted. I love that they made an all Chicago night on Wednesdays, which has worked well for ABC and their Shonda nights.
Then there are their new shows. Manifest looks like what would have happened had the Lost plane returned. Because of that, I am curious to see what happens next. When it comes to Tuesdays, I am buying stock in Kleenex. Two tear-jerkers back to back is going to be too much for our eyes to handle. Let alone our hearts. I Feel Bad will be an interesting fit with Will & Grace, but I think it is a good transition into Law & Order: SVU. I am completely shocked that NBC is moving Midnight Texas to the fall and I think it is a wise choice. They have made Fridays their Sci-Fi night and it works. Maybe they will give us the sequel to Grimm they teased in their series finale.
When it comes to the missing shows from the fall. America’s Got Talent: The Champions will be NBC’s The Bachelor as in it will fill in for The Voice in between seasons. Blindspot will take over The Blacklist’s timeslot when the latter wraps up its sixth season. World of Dance and Good Girls moves to Sunday when football season ends. The newly acquired Brooklyn Nine-Nine does not have a timeslot yet, but I am sure it will find one soon enough.
Finally, NBC has yet to make a decision on Timeless and Champions. If you want these shows, then you have to watch!

The morning started off nicely because Fox renewed Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers, but then came CBS. They cancelled Superior Donuts, which was a good comedy that took on taboo topics, and showed both sides of those issues responsibly. They also pulled the plug on Scorpion, I think the season finale twist did them in. That and the ratings, but I will go with the former.
It wasn’t only bad news from the Eye, they are sticking with Criminal Minds, Man Without a Plan, Instinct and Life in Pieces. Who watches those shows?
NBC also revealed that they are doing an all-star version of America’s Got Talent for the winter. NBC also picked up Blacklist for a season 6.
Over at CBS, they are sticking with Elementary for another season. But they are not sticking with 9JKL, Kevin Can Wait, Living Biblically and Wisdom of the Crowd.
Fox made the huge mistake of cancelling The Last Man on Earth, Lucifer and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. NBC decided to right one of the wrongs by picking up Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a 13-episode sixth season. Proving fans have a voice and thankfully someone is listening. Now if someone can listen to other two pleas, we would be very happy.
BTW I am not surprised by NBC’s decision because it is a Lorne Michaels’ show and his voice is very loud over at the peacock network.
