Zac Efron has a knack for starring in movies that are going to bomb at the box office and looks like Beach Bum will be another one. Even the Matthews, McConaughey and Lawrence, cannot save this film that comes out on March 29th. I think unless you are a fan of Harmony Korine’s films, you are going to be bored by it.
Let’s be honest, most of us have done an impression of Matthew McConaughey, “Alright, alright, alright.” However, Anne Hathaway takes her impression of him even further. Yesterday on Jimmy Kimmel Live she showed us that she does not only captures the way he enunciates words, but she also nails his essence. The way he talks about things is unlike anyone else. Which is why we love him.
I forgot what she won an Oscar for, but, to me, this is the finest acting she has ever done in her career. Take that Princess Diaries.
I do not know about you, but I cannot think of Matthew McConnaughey without hearing his special way of saying, “Alright, alright, alright.” But how did he come up his infamous catchphrase.
The actor explained how while doing a Web’s Most Searched Questions for Wired. He said, “First film I am ever on, Dazed & Confused. I am in the car, about to do my first scene ever and it is non scripted.” Continuing on, “There’s a scene in the movie where Wooderson is hanging out in a pool hall, girls walk by, he reaches and slaps one of the backsides. His buddy says, ‘You gotta cut that or you are gonna go to jail.’ And he steps forward and says, ‘No man, that is what I love about those high school girls. I get older but they stay the same age.'” He thought to himself who is this guy and when he heard action, he looks up and sees “Marissa Ribisi across the way and to myself I go, ‘The fourth thing about Wooderson is picking up chicks?’ Alright, alright, alright.” There you have it!
Are you alright, alright, alright with that answer?
When I think of Matthew McConaughey, I think of him as a tall man. But in this photo, he looks like he is average size. Granted, almost anyone who stands next to the 7’1″ Shaquille O’Neal is going to appear to be small. Even a 6′ Surfer, Dude.
Last week, Matthew McConaughey told Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly that all of his hair is his. But then today he admitted in Us Weekly’s 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me that, “The best hairpiece I’ve ever worn for a role was definitely the Kenny Wells piece [in Gold].”
So which one is it? In the real world his hair is real, in the fake one it is fake.
