Now that Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas, she is in with Santa Claus. So much so that Old Saint Nick asked her to help him with his Naughty or Nice List.
How is the singer going to help him? She is bringing her Merry Christmas One and All tour to the cities that he told her to go to, so she can tell him if the people there are naughty or nice.
I hope that she deems LA naughty because those are the type of gifts I like to get!
BTW Mariah and Santa, All I Want for Christmas is for you to wait until after Halloween to start talking about Christmas. All we are saying is to give Halloween a chance.
So you just went to Mariah Carey’s Christmas concert; what are you going to do after she is done singing All I Want for Christmas Is You and goes home for the holiday? You are going to sing the happy tune with hundreds of your closest friends outside of Madison Square Garden.
Why? Because the Spirit of Christmas compels you!
If you have never been part of a post-concert sing-along, then you are missing out. I wish it was a mandatory thing to do because it is even better than the concert itself. Yeah, I said it. And I meant it.
We all know the song All I Want for Christmas Is You, but do you know how Mariah Carey came up with it?
The singer reveals in her CBS Christmas special that the record company told her to release a Christmas album, and that is when she wrote the holiday staple.
The words she put to paper come from the Christmases she had as a kid. Even though her mom, who was raising two kids by herself, weren’t the best, she found a way to make them special. Her mom would wrap up things like fruit and say it was from the cat or dog. So Mimi didn’t need a lot as a kid as long as she had her mom.
And that is not all we find out about the single. Mariah used not to be able to listen to the song because she would find things wrong with it. However, as more and more people told her why the song is special to them, she has learned to love the tune that will forever haunt our Novembers and Decembers.
Merry Christmas to All debuts on Tuesday and will stream on Paramount+.
Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas, and there has been one thing she has wanted to do with that title ever since she was a Christmas Princess that she has never done.
What is it? She says, “My childhood dream is coming to life! I’m going to be opening for the one and only, SANTA CLAUS 🎅🏼, at this year’s @macys Thanksgiving day parade! 🎄🎉💫 Tune in on Thanksgiving”
This is not the first time she performed at the parade; she sang All I Want for Christmas Is You in 2016. However, the singer did not open for the big man! This is a huge honor! I bet Nick Cannon’s other nine kids will be jealous of their eldest siblings, Roc and Roe, getting a front row to see the man himself.
Heck, I grew up in NYC, danced at the parade, and never got to see Santa Claus up close like that.
