Peta Murgatroyd had some big and shocking news to share with her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. And since he is not home, she had to do it on Facetime.
She wrote, “Yes we know…we just had a baby… haha! This was very unexpected at (4 months postpartum with Rio) but we are sooooo happy and so ready to be a family of 5 soon!”
The couple welcomed their second son, Rio, in June. Not only is this baby a surprise because it is coming so soon after they had Rio, but because she had so many problems conceiving or carrying a baby to term.
And the Dancing with the Stars pro is so grateful for this baby: “After everything we’ve been through with miscarriages and IVF we’re beyond blessed and know we are uber lucky for this miracle to happen to us. We’re just so happy that we can finally tell you guys the good news ”
Maksim is going to need to get more jobs because being on The Traitors and So You Think You Can Dance is not going to support their growing family.
The couple, who will celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary in July, are also the proud parents to Shai, who turned 7 in January.
So You Think You Can Dance will be back on Fox on March 4th. And the show is already having a casting change.
Nigel Lythgoe stepped down from judging this season after he was accused of sexual misconduct by three women, including Paula Abdul.
So we were wondering who would replace him at the Judges’ table with Allison Holker Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and now we know. It is JoJo Siwa.
Siwa is used to a judge leaving the show. During the last season of SYTYCD, she watched as Leah Remini replaced Matthew Morrison, who was accused of an inappropriate conversation with a competing dancer.
Last week, we got to meet the new faithfuls and The Traitors during the three-episode premiere of Peacock.
The 21 contestants are: Carsten “Bergie” Bergersen (Love Island USA), Chris ‘C.T.’ Tamburello (The Challenge), Dan Gheesling (Big Brother), Deontay Wilder (FMR Boxing Heavyweight Champion), Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu (Love Island UK)Janelle Pierzina (Big Brother), Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio (The Challenge), John Bercow (FMR Speaker of the UK House of Commons), Kevin Kreider (Bling Empire), Larsa Pippen (The Real Housewives of Miami), Marcus Jordan (Fashion Entrepreneur), Maksim Chmerkovskiy (Dancing with the Stars), Mercedes “MJ” Javid (Shahs of Sunset), Parvati Shallow (Survivor), Peppermint (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Peter Weber (The Bachelor), Phaedra Parks (Married to Medicine), Sandra Diaz-Twine (Survivor), Shereé Whitfield (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Tamra Judge (The Real Housewives of Orange County), and Trishelle Cannatella (The Challenge)
During the first three episodes, we sadly got to say goodbye to Johnny Bananas, Peppermint, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and Marcus Jordan via banishment or death.
What am I talking about? Basically, 21 people move into a Scottish mansion, and they are given a role. They are either chosen to be a traitor or faithful. If they are selected as a traitor, then they have to hide their identity from all of the faithfuls for the rest of the game.
In each episode, there will be a banishment round, where the contestants eliminate who they think is a traitor. But they are basically guessing. And they are going to guess incorrectly more than correctly.
After the banishment ceremony, the traitors choose to kill someone off. Last week, host Alan Cummings told the traitors they will have to murder someone in plain sight, and that task was given to Traitor Parvati.
When episode 3 ended, she was trying to find someone to drink from her poisonous cup. Tonight at 9p, we will find out who drank from the cup of death.
Will that murder lead to a traitor being banished? I can’t tell you! I can tell you to be prepared for some twists because the producers like to change things up. And that is what keeps this international phenomenon so exciting.
So tune in for an unforgettable funeral that will either leave the contestants with $20,000 more in the pot or with nothing added to it.
But I have said too much, and I don’t want a black rose…
One last thing. I started watching this series two weeks ago, so I was very late to the game.
After I binged the first US season in a day, I immediately did the same with Australia and The UK on Peacock. It is so good, I needed more. And I got it. Now, I am getting a slower fix with the second US season, which will be releasing one episode a week until the season finale. And then, when it is done, we will get the second UK season, which I have read is even better than the first one. And I am going to sound like a bad American, but The UK’s is by the best of the three.
Tonight is the season finale of Dancing with the Stars on ABC, and Fox decided to announce that So You Think You Can Dance will be back for its 18th season on Monday, March 4th.
If that is not a big enough fuck you to ABC, then finding out that Maksim Chmerkovskiy is joining the judges’ table is doing just that.
Who else would prefer to watch Maks over Derek Hough as a judge on DWTS? I know I can’t be alone. And now I will be watching him on SYTYCD.
The news gets even better. Fox screwed up and asked Nigel Lythgoe not to return for season 17. But they realized their fuck up and are bringing him back.
The two men will be joined by former contestant Allison Holker. Her late husband was a judge on season 17. So this will be a tribute to Twitch.
The judges’ table is not the only thing changing. So is the former. Each week, contestants will compete in new, intense dance challenges that will give them a real taste of the career, from performing in a music video or a football halftime show to going toe-to-toe on stage with a Broadway performer. In the end, it will be up to the judges to decide their fate. Eliminations will take place weekly, with the Top 3 finalists competing in the season’s spectacular finale, but only one will win the $100,000 grand prize and the highly coveted title of So You Think You Can Dance champion.
And for those of you wondering if Cat Deeley will be back? Yes, she will be!
I hope SYTYCD finds a new audience to watch the series along with its loyal fans. Because this sounds like it is the adrenaline shot the dancing competition needed.
Peta Murgatroyd didn’t know what to get her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, so she gave him a baby! The Dancing with the Stars couple welcomed their second son yesterday after years of having problems conceiving.
The dancers, who celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary next month, are also the parents to Shai, 6.
