Keke Palmer wasn’t the only one with a surprise on Saturday Night Live yesterday. Kenan Thompson reunited with Kel Mitchell, and they brought back their two most famous characters, Kenan & Kel.
How was it to see them together again? Let’s just say it is all that!
And hopefully, this is just a preview of them bringing back their characters for something more because we can never get enough of them.
Chris Redd is dating Kenan Thompson’s estranged wife, Christina Evangeline. The thing that makes it so strange is that the two men played brothers on Kenan and worked together on Saturday Night Live.
Therefore, you would think the bro-code would be in effect here. Even though it wasn’t, TMZ says that Thompson is OK with them dating because he has moved on from the relationship that ended in 2019.
Now let’s say Redd married Evangeline; what does that make Kenan to him? Husbands-in-law? Why isn’t there a term for that?
Oh, and if you are like me and was thinking that this is why Redd announced last week that he was leaving SNL. Then we would be wrong. TMZ says he left to pursue other projects. In the words of Jon Lovitz, “Yeah, that’s it. That’s the ticket.”
The Emmys are just over a month away, and today the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences and NBC announced that Kenan Thompson will be hosting Television’s biggest night on September 12th.
“Being a part of this incredible evening where we honor the best of the television community is ridiculously exciting, and to do it on NBC – my longtime network family – makes it even more special,” Thompson said. “Like all TV fans, I can’t wait to see the stars from my favorite shows.”
I think it is a great consolation prize for cancelling his hilarious sitcom, Kenan. That and it is truly deserved. Because who doesn’t like Kenan? And there is a reason why everyone loves him. He is a really nice guy, from what I hear! We need to support the good ones, and this is a great start.
BTW Did you know he is going into his 20th season as a member of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players on Saturday Night? What a September for Kenan, who is getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday!
He might not be an overnight success, but he is a success.
I think we can all agree that Natasha Lyonne has a one of a kind voice?
Kate McKinnon thinks the Russian Doll sounds like Marge Simpson in the real world or a rusted kazoo. While her Saturday Night Live co-star Kenan Thompson says her voice sounds like she had COVID-19 for 1,000 years.
When it comes to me? I think the American Pie star sounds like she is possessed by a Vaudeville era comic from the Catskills. What do you think of when she talks?
And don’t forget to watch the actress on the season finale of SNL tomorrow night on NBC.
The Upfronts start on Monday, so the bubble shows are learning their fate this week. Today, NBC handed out the last of its renewals and cancellations.
The network renewed American Auto, Grand Crew, and Young Rock, and they cancelled Kenan, Mr. Mayor, and The Endgame.
I don’t get it. I didn’t think that American Auto or Grand Crew are watchable, and I love comedies.
I think they would’ve been better off cancelling all of their comedies, except Young Rock, and starting over. Next season, they will be adding a George Lopez sitcom and a sequel to Night Court to their schedule. We shall see if they can bring the funny back.
