Tony Danza will give Josh Groban advice on how to handle women!
November 8th, 2017 under Josh Groban, Netflix, Taxi. [ Comments: 2 ]

Josh Groban is going to do something he has never done before. The singer is going to co-star in a series and not just be a guest star on one. The Tony nominee will play Tony Danza’s son named Tony in a Netflix show called, Tony, no wait, it is actually called The Good Cop. It just seemed like a logical name since everyone else is going by Tony including Tony Danza.

Anyways, Netflix describes his character Tony Jr as, “an earnest, obsessively honest NYPD detective who makes a point of always following the rules. Tony Jr is son to Tony Sr, a disgraced, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules, played by Tony Danza. In The Good Cop, a new 10 episode one-hour dramedy series, this ‘odd couple’ become unofficial partners as Tony Sr offers his overly cautious son blunt, street-wise advice on everything from handling suspects to handling women.”

I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for this show to debut next year because Danza has been a favorite of mine ever since I saw him in a little show called Taxi when I was kid. When it comes to the Groobs, it will be interesting to see him in comedic role on episodic series. He proved he has the chops for it on The Crazy Ones and Ally McBeal.

No word if he will sing on the show, but I am sure they will find a way to make that happen. It seems to be mandatory because he always manages to get a note in there in some way like on this past Friday’s Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Shh, don’t tell anyone that is a musical show. Sadly, this one is not.

UPDATE: Groban seemed to hint on Twitter that he will have to shave his beard for the part. Which is a good thing because it will make the two actors look more like father and son. They have the same eyes, so it will be nice to see if they also have the same cheeks and chins. That and I hate beards.

Josh Groban tells a kids’ joke!
August 17th, 2017 under Josh Groban, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: 2 ]

Sesame Street has a new challenge for their viewers and they want them to #ShareTheLaughter. What is the best way to do that? Tell a joke of course. Here is Josh Groban asking, “What kind of songs do planets sing?” To hear the answer, you are going to have to watch the video above as the singer shares a secret only he and Neil deGrasse Tyson would know.

I love Grobs but when it comes to his delivery, it is good thing that he is a double threat. Does anyone know if he can dance and does he dance to Neptunes?

BTW I love kids jokes, so here is one of my favorite, “Knock knock. Who’s there? A little old lady? A little old lady who? I didn’t know you could yodel!” Share some of your favorite jokes for kids because it will brighten everybody’s day including mine.

The Shat, Grobs and Bergeron!
August 16th, 2017 under Dancing with the Stars, Josh Groban, Tom Bergeron, William Shatner. [ Comments: none ]

William Shatner is 86 years old, Tom Bergeron is almost 25 years younger than him and Josh Groban is about 25 years younger than the Dancing with the Stars host. Even though there is 50 years between the three men, that did not stop them from doing 21 shots of beer when they were hanging out.

Could you imagine those three men drunk together? That would be a laugh out loud riot. The Shat would probably talk even slower that he normally, Grobs would sing corny songs with his sexy voice and The Berg is giving commentary about it all. In other words a blast that I wish I was at because it would be a day I would never forget!

Is Josh Groban a crazy ex boyfriend?
August 15th, 2017 under Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Josh Groban. [ Comments: none ]

A post shared by Josh Groban (@joshgroban) on

Josh Groban has landed his first acting gig since leaving his Tony nominated role in The Great Comet on Broadway and he will be guest staring on The CW’s Crazy Ex Girlfriend. What he will be doing on the show, that more of you should be watching, we do not know because all Rachel Bloom, the show’s star and creator said this about his appearance on the show, “it’s a secret so don’t tell anyone.” !Too late the cat is out of the bag.

Meanwhile Grobs had this to say about his guest stint, “I had the best time shooting a cameo on Crazy Ex Girlfriend with the INSANELY NICE AND TALENTED @racheldoesstuff. This episode is a doozy. Can’t wait for you to see!”

We do not know which episode he will show his face on, but the musical comedy returns with all new episodes starting on October 13th. We also do not know if he will be singing on it, but I am wishing and hoping they give him a tune like Heavy Boobs or I Gave You a UTI. Those songs are classics and fun to listen to when you are driving with the windows down.

To all you Grobanites, who are not familiar with this quirky program, you can catch up on the first two seasons which are currently streaming on Netflix. It is so up Groban’s alley. If you like his sense of humor, then you will love Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Therefore, why are still reading this and not watching it on Netflix?

UPDATE: A rep for The CW told me, “He will play a mysterious and helpful stranger who will sing in the show.” At least we know he is singing!

The Great Comet’s curtain is coming down
August 9th, 2017 under Broadway, Josh Groban, Mandy Patinkin. [ Comments: none ]

Josh Groban made his Broadway debut in The Great Comet last year and Grobanites flocked to see it. But then last month he left the show and so did his fans. His replacement did not bring in the audience, so the producers hired Mandy Patinkin to replace him. When word got out, several theater people protested the decision and the Homeland actor dropped out. That controversy came at a big cost for the Tony nominated show. One so big, its last performance will be on September 3rd. Which makes you wonder if saving one person’s job was worth it, since now a lot more are out of work because of it? I think not.

When it comes to the former star, Groban had this to say about the closing on Twitter, “Broadway is better with this brilliant diverse show on it. Plain as that. See and support while you can. All my ❤️ to my comet family.”
