Dolly Parton and Jimmy Fallon are giving us Christmas joy early
October 2nd, 2020 under Christmas Music, Dolly Parton, Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Back in August, Dolly Parton announced that she is releasing a Christmas album with original songs and her take on some classics. Today, A Holly Dolly Christmas came out, and I got to hear the song I have been anticipating the most. The legendary Country singer sings a duet of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas with Jimmy Fallon.

I knew we were going to experience Christmas joy in October because of the tune. I just didn’t know how much joy it was going to bring me. I can’t stop smiling after listening to their cover. How can you not feel happy after listening to them get playful with each other as they harmonize one of the holiday’s favorite singles?

I am off to listen to the rest of the album because this is what 2020 needs. That and as Conan O’Brien said, we might not make it to December 25th.

Is Jimmy Fallon secretly bald?

Last week when Jimmy Fallon was interviewing Sting, the Tonight Show host said that he was wearing a hairpiece he got from Amazon. I thought he was joking at the time. However, after seeing this photo that he shared today, I am not so sure.

Could Fallon audition for Mr. Clean and not have to shave his head? Only if the hair and makeup people at the NBC late night talk show put a bald cap on him. Fallon is preparing to play Trump tonight live after the debate, and he needs to make his natural locks go away so he can wear Trump’s $70,000 hair as a wig. That price tag is enough reason why Trump should not be re-elected. Who would spend $70,000 to have their hair look like that? Even Supercuts is like we can do a better job with that, and a year’s worth of haircuts will still cost less than what he paid in taxes in 2016 or 2017.

Miley Cyrus is a Maneater

Miley Cyrus was on The Tonight Show yesterday, and she performed her take of Hall & Oates’ Maneater for Jimmy Fallon. A song, she says, is a warning to her future husband. The poor unfortunate soul.

When it comes to her take, it is definetely different than the original. I think it will grow on me if she keeps performing it. However, I don’t think it is one of her better covers. Her version of Girls Just Want to Have Fun, dare I say, is better than Cyndi Lauper’s.

What do you think of it?

Jimmy Fallon and Seth Rogen forfeited one of the Tonight Show games
July 31st, 2020 under Jimmy Fallon, Seth Rogen. [ Comments: none ]

Seth Rogen was on The Tonight Show yesterday, and Jimmy Fallon challanged him to a game of the Pickle Juice Challenge in honor of the actor’s upcoming HBO Max movie An American Pickle.

The game is simple. All they have to do is answer questions about pickles. If they get the answer right, then the other person has to drink a shot of pickle juice. If they get it wrong, then they are the ones downing it.

Both men got every question right. Therefore, for the tie breaker, they had to see who could drink the remaining pickle juice the fastest. Both men agreed to end the game in a tie rather than do that.

Such wimps. I drink it all the time because it is good for getting rid of headaches. Let me tell you it works.

Jimmy Fallon is back in the studio
July 14th, 2020 under Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since the production lockdown went into effect back in March, all of the late night talk show hosts did their shows from their homes. Last week, Conan O’Brien saw something called sunlight and started doing his TBS show from a theater in Los Angeles.

Yesterday, Jimmy Fallon also ventured outside, and now he is back recording The Tonight Show in his second home, aka his studio at 30 Rock.

However, it is not like it used to be in March. There is no audience to laugh at his jokes. That means, The Roots, who are 6′ apart from each other and on the other side of the stage, have to laugh harder to make up for it. Fallon’s desk is also gone. Instead, he is sitting on a chair when he talks to the guests at their homes. The celebrities will still be interviewed virtually.

While it is not the same as it was, it is nice to see we are slowly getting back to normal. Slowly and safely is the only way we can do it.

I wonder what transpired in order for them to bring him back to the studio. I am not complaining, I am just curious.
