When James Corden got the hosting job of The Late Late Show, many of us were like who he is? As the show’s premiere date got closer, CBS started putting huge billboards of his face all over Los Angeles. In fact, they even put one up on the wall outside the studio where he tapes his show. So you would think that security would know who he was his because his huge face is right in front of theirs. You would be wrong. Corden told Conan O’Brien yesterday that he recently went to lunch one day and forget his pass in the office. When he came back, he tried to get passed security and they wouldn’t let him him without it. He tried to show them the billboard, but that didn’t work. It wasn’t until someone from his staff came down with the pass that he was finally let in.
That says a lot because he tapes in the same building as Dancing with the Stars and American Idol and and security can recognize those hasbeens and not him.
Hopefully, now that the show is on the air they will start to recognize him just like they do Carrie Ann Inaba and Harry Connick Jr.
Chris Pine and Patricia Arquette were guests on The Late Late Show with James Corden yesterday and the CBS late night host asked them to act out a scene from The Young & The Restless. Captain Kirk went all out for it. He put on a wig, unbuttoned his shirt, kissed any face he could and broke everything in his path. By the end of the scene, I felt that his talent is wasted on the big screen. I think he should be doing the small screen in the afternoon instead. He was born to act on soap operas, don’t you agree?
When it comes to Corden, this sketch proves to me that he’s the British version of Jimmy Fallon. Do you see what I see?
Yesterday was the debut of The Late Late Show with James Corden and CBS called in a lot of favors to make sure his opening bit was filled with big named celebrities. The bit explained how he got the job and it was Willy Wonka-esque as in people who were rumored for the position searched for the Golden Ticket. When Chelsea Handler accidentally dropped her chocolate bar, Corden found it and got the Golden Ticket aka job. The Wonka of the segment was Jay Leno and he helped to prep the CBS late night host for his job. When the former Tonight Show host was done with the training, he declared, “In three months, this show will be mine.” It’s not like Leno hasn’t done it before… But I don’t think he would really go for it? Or would he???
Another fun thing the show did last night on CBS at 12:35a was they had guest, Tom Hanks, reenact a lot of his movies with Corden in just under 7 minutes. The only negative is it included a lot of his newer movies, and I forgot how horrible they were. I actually blocked Road to Perdition out of my mind until they brought it up. I also wish they would’ve included two of his most popular TV show appearances, Bosom Buddies and Family Ties. Who didn’t down some Vanilla Extract as kid after they saw him on Family Ties?
When it comes to The Late Late Show with James Corden, it reminded me a lot of Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Oscar specials. Even Kimmel can only do those one night year, so it will be interesting to see how Corden does next week when the thrill of his debut week is over. What did you think of his first show?
Mila Kunis is a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden’s first episode tonight at 12:35a on CBS and the host asked her if she got married to her baby daddy Ashton Kutcher. All she would says is I don’t know and maybe. While Tom Hanks was checking out her ring finger, Corden just asked to see her hand and said that they are married. The That’s 70’s Show star tried to shake it off, but it was too late.
So did she confirm that she is married? All I can say is I don’t know and maybe. What do you think?

Days after James Corden appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Seth Meyers, the future host of The Late Late Show finally appeared on the CBS show he is taking over on March 23rd. Craig Ferguson grilled him to see if he is ready for his new job, and all he could do was laugh because that is what the exiting host does to people. And that is why we are going to miss him.
You know what I found interesting about seeing these two men together, even though Craig is from Scotland, I understood him better than I did Corden who is from England. I thought it was easier to understand the English over the Scottish, but maybe not always.
