I normally hate the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The people I think who deserve to be there aren’t even nominated. However, this year, this Duranie is finally seeing Duran Duran get inducted along with Dolly Parton, Pat Benetar, Carly Simon, Eminem, and Lionel Richie.
As much as I love the Eurythmics, I don’t think they are as deserving as The New York Dolls, who were nominated but not inducted. Although, the latter’s acceptance speech would be sad because they are down to one member. Buster Poindexter might be Hot, Hot, Hot, but he would be lonely up there by himself.
Anyways, it’s not about my feelings or this year’s controversies like Dolly Parton and Dionne Warwick criticizing the name of the Hall of Fame and asking not to be inducted, it about the inductees’ night.
That night is going to be November 19th on HBO. So mark your calendars because it is going to be a night to remember.
No butts about it, season 4 of Doom Patrol is going to be the butt of all jokes. So be prepared for the toilet humor as Cliff Steele (Brendan Fraser), “Negative Man” aka Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer), “Elasti-Woman” aka Rita Farr (April Bowlby), “Crazy Jane” (Diane Guerrero), “Cyborg” aka Victor Stone (Joivan Wade), joined by former super-villain “Madame Rouge” aka Laura de Mille (Michelle Gomez) take on an army of asses starting on December 8th.
Seriously, is there anything else you need to know about the season to watch it on HBO Max? I didn’t think so.
But if you do need a little more, then here it is. Season 4 opens with the team unexpectedly traveling to the future to find an unwelcome surprise. Faced with their imminent demise, the Doom Patrol must decide once and for all which is more important: their own happiness or the fate of the world?
But let’s be honest. We are all tuning in for the singing and dancing butts!!! With them, you know it is not going to be a shitty season. That is unless there are no toilets, and they relieve themselves all over the place.
Discovery recently merged with Warner Bros, and they have made a lot of changes to the studio. One of the biggest changes they are going to make was announced today by Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav on a second-quarter earnings call. Just like they merged companies, they will be merging their streaming services Discovery+ and HBO Max next summer, according to NBC News.
That means for the 92 million people (77 million for HBO Max) who currently subscribe to the current services, they will have a lot of content to watch. The question is, will they want to watch it all at whatever price point they set?
But then again, there are way too many streaming services, so I say merge away!
Are you missing Pretty Little Liars? Well, it is getting a sequel on HBO Max, and the first three episodes begin streaming on June 28th.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin starts off twenty years ago after a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in present day, a disparate group of teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin committed by their parents two decades ago…as well as their own.
The new Liars are played by Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, and Maia Reficco, and they live just a few miles away from the ones we used to know.
The series will stream all of its episodes over a four-week period. We get three episodes the first and last weeks and two during the middle two weeks. So mark your calendars because you don’t want to miss a single secret.
With half of all marriages ending in divorce, that means there are a lot of kids who will grow up without a two-parent household like their friends. Unfortunately, there is not a lot on TV that is made for them.
However, American Girl and Mattel teamed up with HBO Max, Cartoon Network, and MarVista to tell the story of Corrine Tan who is dealing with her parents’ recent divorce with two 60-minute specials.
The first 60-minute special follows 13-year-old ski enthusiast Corinne Tan as she navigates her parents’ recent divorce while her 10-year-old sister, Gwynn, dad, mom, and stepdad Arne have adjusted to their new roles in this blended family. She discovers a new purpose when she challenges herself to train a rambunctious puppy named Flurry to become a search and rescue dog. American Girl: Corinne Tan tells the inspirational story of a proud big sister as she comes to understand family, perseverance, and self-acceptance.
Fred Soulie, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mattel Television. “Corinne is a strong role model, encouraging viewers to be their true, authentic selves. We are proud to bring her rich story to life and inspire television audiences of all ages.”
American Girl: Corinne Tan debuts in December on Cartoon Network and will stream the next day on HBO Max. The second special will air in 2023.
