Andie MacDowell was on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, and she told him her bareback story. Before you get as excited as Billy Porter, who was also a guest, it is not that exciting.
MacDowell was living in a small Christain community in North Carolina. Therefore, she was naive about certain things. Things like what the phrase bareback means to most people.
Since she is an avid horse rider, bareback means riding a horse without a saddle. She loves to do it so much that she made her email address BarebackSug. The actress would send emails to her childrens’ school with it, not realizing that they might’ve been thinking that she was telling them that she likes to ride without a condom as compared to a saddle.
She probably thought everyone was looking at her funny on parent/teacher nights because she is a celebrity. But they were probably looking at her that way because of her email address.
Oh, and Sug is short for Sugar, who was the horse she liked to ride bareback. Not the man she might have been doing that with at the time.
Tom Hanks has gone through many transformations throughout his career. He gained weight for A League of Their Own, he lost a lot for Philadelphia, and now he got a “horrible” haircut to play Colonel Tom Parker in Baz Luhrmann’s movie about Elvis Presley.
The actor debuted the nearly bald look on The Graham Norton Show, and he tried to hide it by having his head above the computer’s camera’s angle. Eventually, he gave us a quick glimpse. The Oscar winner is correct; it is “horrible.” Hopefully, it will grow back. Although, we will love him with or without hair.
Now, the question is, will the Academy love him enough to give him his third Oscar because of it. We will find out whenever that film comes out.
Last week, Margot Robbie and Daniel Kaluuya were on The Graham Norton Show and they both admitted that they have stolen things.
The I, Tonya actress, told a story about how she stole her friend’s toilet paper and placed it in a Ralph Lauren bag. Then when she left the apartment, it was the first time she was photographed by the paparazzi. She was embarrassed, but you would never know that was in the bag that she is carrying in the photo.
That was a one-time deal for her, yet the same can not be said about the Black Panther star. He admitted that he takes socks from the set. He even revealed the pattern of how he does it. He goes in with his own socks and then production gives him a pair to wear for shooting. He does this for four days straight, then he stops for two weeks before he resumes his wicked ways again.
Why does he do it? Two reasons, the first being, “Shopping for socks is a waste of life.” The second one is, “Costume designers have better taste in socks than me. They’re always nice.” How nice? Check out the pair of stolen socks he wore for his guest appearance on the BBC show.
Now that his secret is out there, he better hope no one tells him to Get Out for his thievery of socks. Can you imagine the headlines? Daniel Kaluuya socked from his latest movie. Director socks it to Daniel Kaluuya. Daniel Kaluuya was caught red barefooted.
Helena Bonham Carter is playing the late Princess Margaret in Netflix’s The Crown, but she was unsure if she should play the part. Before the actress said yes, she told Graham Norton, she went to see a psychic about something else. That psychic is also a medium and told Carter that there was a Margaret in the room with them. Did that name mean anything?
Carter not wanting to miss the chance of finding out if the Royal was alright with her taking on her essence, she decided to ask if it was OK. The Princess told her, “I think you are a better idea than the other actor.” With that Carter accepted the role.
Princess Margaret also had a suggestion for the woman who is playing her, she instructed her to, “Get the smoking right.” The Countess of Snowdon had a very distinctive way of her holding her cigarette holder and Carter made sure to replicate that.
Carter also revealed that she had met the Princess, and she had a way of “complimenting you and putting you down at the same time.” Therefore, the actress knew it was really Margaret.
When it comes to whom that other actress was, we do not know. But I wonder if the ghost also told her the same thing she told Carter…
Seriously, if you get the seal of approval from a dead person, you better do what they say. Otherwise, they will haunt you for the rest of your life. Then again if Carter did not do a good job in the series, then the Princess still haunt her. Boo!
Back in 1975, Bruce Springsteen released a little album called Born to Run and the songs off of it were running up the charts. He went from unknown to superstar with that record and it gave the young singer the balls to do things he normally would never have done.
For example, yesterday when he was on The Graham Norton Show, he shared a story about a trip he will never forget. He and the band went to Nashville and they were hungry. He got in the cab with Steven Van Zandt and asked for a place to eat. The driver suggested a place near Graceland.
When they got to Elvis Presley’s home, he told the driver to stop. He got out, jumped the wall and proceeded to walk up to the door. Just as he was about to knock, he was stopped by security.
The guard wanted to know if there was anything he could help him with. That is when The Boss, asked if The King was home. He was not there because he was in Vegas.
Then Springsteen asked if he could give a message to his idol. He said to the security guard, “Can you tell him, I don’t generally like to do this but, Bruce Springsteen was here.” Then he continued with, “He might not know who that is, but I was just on the cover of Time and Newsweek.”
With that, he was on his way. He never met Elvis before he died in 1977, so he does not know if got the message. I’d like to think that he did. Not as much as Bruce though.
While he doesn’t have that awesome story of meeting The King, maybe it is better. They say never meet your idols for reason…
