Fox announced their midseason lineup, and two of their shows are missing. Those shows are The Big Leap and Our Kind of People, and TV Line is reporting that Fox did not order any more episodes from either show. That most likely means that they are cancelled, but they are not saying that as of now.
This news totally bums me out because I am loving The Big Leap. It is the first show I watch on Mondays, and I watch seven shows on this night.
So what is replacing those two shows? Here is the schedule.

Fox announced today that they picked up their summer hit Fantasy Island for a second season. The show is a sequel to the 1978 series with Roselyn Sanchez starring as Elena Roarke, Mr. Roarke’s niece.
“Thanks to the fantastic Roselyn Sanchez and charming Kiara Barnes and the captivating stories that tapped into the core tenets of emotion and aspiration, Fantasy Island was the perfect wish fulfillment and escape we all needed this summer,” said Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, FOX Entertainment. “Liz Craft, Sarah Fain and everyone at Sony and Gemstone did an excellent job on this series and, like all good things, it left us wanting more. We’re so happy to have Elena Roarke, Ruby Akuda and everyone on FANTASY ISLAND open their world again for a brief visit this winter and for a longer stay next year.”
What is this brief visit he is talking about? Fantasy Island is getting a 2-hour Christmas episode with Mackenzie Astin on December 21st.
Personally, I was pleasantly surprised it was picked up. I didn’t think it did well enough in the ratings, but I was wrong. And to be honest, I think it is better than the original. I watched the first one and the remake on Tubi, and I had to shut both of them off after a few episodes. However, I watched the whole season of the Fox program. Does that tell you how much I enjoyed it?
Back in 2003, Fox introduced us to Joe Millionaire. It was like The Bachelor, but the women were vying for a man who was worth a million dollars.
In January, the show is coming back but with a twist. One man will be worth 10 million dollars. In contrast, the other one is not worth anywhere near that. Twenty women will try to win the heart of the man who they think is worth a million bucks.
Will they find love, or will they find money on Joe Millionaire: For Richer Or Poorer? We will just have to tune in to find out in a series that will show us if money equals love or not.
Susan Sarandon is going Country with Trace Adkins as her husband in Fox’s new show Monarch. After watching the first trailer, I am all in like a cowboy impregnating his prized horse with some champion sperm. That sounds so wrong, but I have only lived in big cities, so this Yankee does not know any country references.
Maybe I will learn some when I watch the drama that debuts with a two-night event starting on January 30th and concluding February 1st on its regularly scheduled night.
For those of you, weren’t as turned on with the show as I was after watching the trailer, here is what it is about. In MONARCH, reigning King of Country Music ALBIE ROMAN (Adkins), along with his insanely talented, but tough as nails wife, Queen of Country Music DOTTIE CANTRELL ROMAN (Sarandon), have created a country music dynasty. But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown NICOLETTE “NICKY” ROMAN (Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom, alongside her brother, LUKE ROMAN (Sasse), and sister, GIGI ROMAN (Ditto).
The drama also stars Anna Friel, Josh Sasse, Beth Ditto, Meagan Holder, Inigo Pascual, Martha Higareda. and Emma Milani.
They better get the mechanical bull ready for me to sit on because that is where I will be watching the series from. Yeehaw!
Last week, Emily VanCamp revealed that she is a first-time mom with her husband, Josh Bowman.
Today, we learned that she is not returning to The Resident for its fifth season.
According to Deadline, she asked to be released from the show as a series regular. She might return as a guest star later on, but nothing is set.
The site says that her storyline will be wrapped up early on this season. The above promo might give us a hint how.
This is the fourth series that she was not part of its fifth season, Everwood and Revenge were cancelled, and she left Brothers and Sisters at the end of the fourth one. So from here on out, she should be known as four and out.
