Rick Springfield shares a really neat Elvis Presley story!
January 18th, 2018 under Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Presley, Harry Connick Jr. [ Comments: none ]

Rick Springfield might sing Don’t Talk to Strangers, but thankfully Elvis Presley did not believe that. The never ageing rocker shared a story about meeting The King to Harry Connick Jr yesterday on the crooner’s daytime talk show.

Back in 1971 when Springfield was flying back to Australia, they had a stopover in Hawaii and Elvis boarded the plane. Of course, Elvis the Pelvis sat in first class, and Rick, back then, sat in the cheap seats. Towards the end of their flight, Presley got up, walked to the back of the plane and signed autographs and took pictures with all of the passengers on the plane. Which is totally awesome that someone as famous (was their anyone more popular than him) as The King of Rock’n’Roll would do that, while most of today’s celebrities cannot talk to the commoners.

Back to Springfield, at the time he was managed by the same man who directed Elvis’ 1968 special and the two men bonded over that. What a really swell encounter to share with everyone and anyone. I would start every conversation with that if that happened to me.

When it comes to Elvis, this story makes me love him even more. Some of the other actors I have heard stories about like this are Henry Winkler and Jerry O’Connell, the latter I witness for myself at the Jimmy Kimmel Live green room.

Britney Spears sings Elvis Presley acoustically
December 3rd, 2017 under Britney Spears, Elvis Presley. [ Comments: none ]

It’s Britney Spears party and she’ll sing if she wants to. Therefore, she did. She said that she, “always wanted to do a performance like this… singing in a pretty little black dress, with a simple 360, one take shot! I figured since it was my birthday, why not go for it?! So boom 💥 When the clock struck 12:00, I did it!!! Thank you all for the beautiful birthday wishes, and for letting me do what I love. I appreciate you more than you will ever know!!!!”

Then she shared that video of herself singing Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love in a LBD as a cameraman went around her in a circle. She got her birthday wish and we got our wish of hearing her real singing voice.

As good as a job she did, I will always be partial to the Corey Hart cover of the song. To hear it, then click here!

Does Billy Ray Cyrus’ bruise look like Elvis Presley?
June 20th, 2017 under Billy Ray Cyrus, Elvis Presley. [ Comments: none ]

Billy Ray Cyrus hurt his hamstring a week and a half ago during the City of Hope ball game and now he is seeing someone famous in his bruise. Maybe because his show, Still the King, will be back on CMT July 11th or because he is a fan of The King, but he thinks it looks like Elvis Presley. Do you see it?

Whether you do or not, say you do because you don’t want to break his achy breaky heart if you do not. I see it. In fact, I think he should get a tattoo of it because I think it would be totally cool to remember it as is.

Have you ever had a bruise that looked something or someone? When I was in college, I burned my thigh with hot water and it looked like Snoopy. To this day I regret not getting it inked.

What if Elvis Lives?
August 16th, 2016 under AXS, Elvis Presley. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZII0phwJLA4
39 years ago today, Elvis Presley died, but what if he didn’t? That is what the AXS TV telemovie Elvis Lives is going to look at tonight at 9p.
On August 16, 1977, the world was shocked when Elvis Presley suddenly died. Because it was so sudden and he was very loved, people claimed to have seen him alive for many many years afterwards. Did he really die in that Graceland bathroom?
In this movie, a few weeks before Elvis (Jonathan Nation) “died”, his life was in a downward spiral. He just wanted to be back with Priscilla, his daughter Lisa and live a normal life. That was something he couldn’t do because he was the most famous person in the world. There was a way he could live on in secret and this is the theory on he did it.
That theory, is something you will learn when you watch this intriguing movie about Elvis’ final days as The King and his first few days as his new self.

History repeats itself with John Stamos as Elvis Presley!
October 19th, 2011 under Elvis Presley, Full House, John Stamos. [ Comments: none ]

John Stamos Tweeted the above picture of him with Tom Jones and Priscilla Presley; and it looks a lot like a picture that was taken of the late great Elvis Presley in 1968 with the same people to Stamos’ right! How does Uncle Jesse feel about it, “this pic was a total coincidence- would never try to stand in the kings shoes- (or touch his girl)” Yes it was a cool accident, but you know what in ways he reminds of the King of Rock’n’Roll! Either that or I am just having flashbacks to several scenes from Full House. Well that and he really is as much as of ladies’ man as Elvis was!
BTW how great do Jones and Presley look 43 years after that first picture?
