Eddie Murphy is back!
August 12th, 2019 under Eddie Murphy. [ Comments: none ]

From the ’80s until 2010, it always seemed like Eddie Murphy always had a new movie out. However, since 2010, he has only starred in 3 live-action films. That is all about to change because he has a new movie coming out this fall on Netflix.

Dolemite Is My Name is different than what he is known for and yet he makes it work. Could be because playing Blaxploitation legend Rudy Ray More. To me, it kind of looks like The Disaster Artist, but with a much better cast.

Will it be Oscar worthy? We will find out in a few weeks. I am just hoping that Eddie Murphy is back to making enjoyable movies.

If not, then someone will make a movie like this about him and one of his films like Pluto Nash.

Eddie Murphy does a better Tracy Morgan than Tracy Morgan
September 10th, 2016 under Eddie Murphy, Jimmy Kimmel, Tracy Morgan. [ Comments: none ]

Eddie Murphy was on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday and the two men talked about their friend Tracy Morgan. Then all of sudden, Pluto Nash did an impression of his friend and it was spot. Not only did he sound like him, he also mastered his mannerisms. It was amazing to watch.
So much so, I want to see Morgan and Murphy do a body switch movie where they have to have to imitate the other one for most of it like Freaky Friday. How hilarious would it be to to see skinny and “Fat Murphy” in the same film together.

Eddie Murphy threatens us with another album!
February 24th, 2015 under Eddie Murphy. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 1985, Eddie Murphy was like Party All the Time, but people thought they he should stick to doing comedy and movies instead of singing. Now it is 30, yes 3-0, years later and he is thinking of releasing another album.
The Nutty Professor released a Reggae beat on Facebook today called Oh Jah Jah and said, “If people respond to this, then I might do another album.” I don’t know about you, but I’d be Delirious if did just that. Especially, if all the songs sound like one. You ready for another Eddie Murphy record?

The Beverly Hills Cop show is dead, but a movie lives!
July 20th, 2013 under Eddie Murphy. [ Comments: none ]

CBS decided not to move forward with a show based on Beverly Hills Cop, but looks like a new movie is in the works. The show’s creator Shawn Ryan Tweeted, “Sad to report that efforts to land Beverly Hills Cop pilot at another network have failed. This iteration is dead for now. Good news for fans of franchise is that the pilot tested so well, it has caused Paramount to put another #BHC movie into development.”
No word if that means Eddie Murphy will be the lead or if they will go with pilot’s concept and base it around Axel Foley’s son. I am hoping it’s all about Axel because I’d like to see Murphy get back to where he was.

Eddie Murphy, Reese Witherspon, Jack Black and Ben Stiller are way overpaid!
December 4th, 2012 under Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Jack Black. [ Comments: 1 ]

Forbes has released the 2012’s Most Overpaid Actors and the list includes Oscar winner, Razzie winners and an Oscar and Razzie winner.
Eddie Murphy, who has been in box office dud after box office dud, tops the list by only making $2.30 for every $1 paid. Next up is Katherine Heigl, who hung up TV scrubs to be a RomCom star, makes $3.40 for every $1 paid and looks like she made a mistake leaving Grey’s Anatomy. Next up is the first Oscar winner on the list and kind of a surprise, Reese Witherspoon makes $3.90 for every $1 paid. She is followed by another Oscar winner, Sandra Bullock makes $5 for every $1 paid, and her new movie looks it will get her higher up on the list. Jack Black is $.20 behind her, and the only reason why he isn’t up there with Murphy is his animated movies earn the big bucks. Nicolas Cage might be happy he is on a list even if it is this one. Adam Sandler is next on the list at $6.30 for every $1 paid and I am sure he will be climbing the list next year. Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington is tied with the man whose movie won every Razzie earlier this year. Ben Stiller does sh!tty movies, but there is still an audience for them. Sarah Jessica Parker closes out the list, who knew she is still making movie.
Where is Will Ferrell because his movies are barely watchable, but like Ben Stiller he some how gets an audience. Other people I am surprised not on the list are Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper, Will Smith and Tom Cruise. I think in the next few years Brad Pitt, Melissa McCarthy, Steve Carrell, Zach Galifianakis, Russell Brand, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will be one of Forbes Most Overpaid Actors.
Who do you think is missing and who will be there in the future.
