The Dancing with the Stars ‘stars’ are…
September 13th, 2023 under Dancing with the Stars, How I Met Your Mother, Jason Mraz, The Brady Bunch. [ Comments: none ]

I don’t know about you, but I was thinking that Dancing with the Stars was going to get some big names this season because of the strikes because of all of the actors who desperately need a paycheck. And I was wrong.

It is the same thing as most years: a bunch of who are yous? I mean, I am rooting for Jason Mraz because he makes me laugh on TikTok, and I love his music. But besides him and Barry Williams, aka Greg Brady, I don’t really care about all of the reality stars they have the competition. Well, I can’t wait to see how Mira Sorvino incorporates her Romy and Michelle dance into one of the nights.

But other than that, I will be wishing my junior high school alum Alfonso Ribeiro, good luck hosting the biggest dancing competition show in the US.

The “Stars” put on their dancing shows starting on September 29th on ABC.

Dancing with the Stars moves to Tuesdays
September 12th, 2023 under Dancing with the Stars. [ Comments: none ]

Dancing with the Stars has been on Monday nights for as long as we can remember. But on September 26th, it moves to Tuesdays on ABC.

Not only is DWTS no longer on Mondays, but neither is The Bachelor, aka The Golden Bachelor, this season. So, it makes you wonder what ABC has planned for Monday nights this season. And ABC desperately needs a hit because they are reality and game show heavy this fall due to their bosses not negotiating a better contract with the writers and actors.

On that note, the dancing competition show announced on Good Morning America today that Jamie Lynn Spears will be competing this season. The Sweet Magnolias star says she will be donating her weekly paycheck for DWTS to the striking actors and writers.

It will be interesting to see if the other actors will follow suit. I highly doubt it.

Scandoval’s, I mean Vanderpump Rules, Ariana Madix, and The Bachelor’s Charity Lawson are also dancing this season. The full cast and who they will be dancing with will be announced tomorrow on GMA.

Dancing with the Stars is getting into the Scandoval business
July 7th, 2023 under Bravo, Dancing with the Stars. [ Comments: none ]

I know you are going to say I am weird, but I don’t watch any of the Bravo shows. I don’t care about any of The Housewives or Vanderpump Rules. However, I know both shows have their controversies, and people follow every juicy detail.

Dancing with the Stars is hoping that the Scandoval will bring in an audience for season 32. So today, Derek Hough, who is the new head judge (WTF), announced on Good Morning America that Ariana Madix will be competing on the show this season.

I hope that she has an affair with her dancing partner. Maybe it will be enough for me to tune in again now that the wicked witch Tyra Banks is gone. Who am I kidding? That ship has long sailed.

The rest of the “Stars” will be announced on September 13th.

Peta Murgatroyd didn’t know what to get her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, so she gave him a baby! The Dancing with the Stars couple welcomed their second son yesterday after years of having problems conceiving.

The dancers, who celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary next month, are also the parents to Shai, 6.

Congrats to the Chmerkovskiys!

ABC steals another show for their lineup
May 2nd, 2023 under Dancing with the Stars. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday, Fox cancelled 9-1-1, and ABC picked it up for season 7.

Today, Vulture is reporting that Dancing with the Stars is returning to ABC after a year at Disney+. However, it will still stream live on Disney+.

There are still a lot of details that need to be worked out because DTWS aired without commercials on the streaming service. But they can’t do that on ABC. So it will be interesting to see what they do to fill that commercial time.

Why the move? I think the Writers’ Strike played a huge part. But, Vulture suggests that the return of Bob Iger as the head of Disney played a part in the decision. Most of the people who thought it was a good idea to move the dancing competition series are no longer with the company.

Plus, without the hated Tyra Banks hosting the show and Julianne Hough joining Alfonso Ribeiro as a host, I am sure ABC is wishing and hoping fans will tune back in.

But, the return will be bittersweet because we are all going to miss Len Goodman, who passed away last week. Even though he retired in November, he was such a big part of the show’s heart.

Are you going to tune in again now that it is back on ABC and Tyra is gone?
