CBS transplants Three Rivers to a new time slot
November 16th, 2009 under CBS. [ Comments: 2 ]

I was prepared to write a letter to CBS begging them to save Three Rivers today, but then they announced that they are giving the best new drama of the fall season a chance at the 10p time slot swapping time with Crap Case, I mean Cold Case to see if that will increase its viewership! Yesterday’s episode was pure brilliance and an amazing hour of television that made you cry, but also gave you hope that there are still descent people out there in this world. I was not alone in my opinion because the show got its highest ratings to date. If you have an hour to spare and some kleenex near by then watch the full episode online. I posted the first part and if you go to ThreeRiversCBS on YouTube you can watch the rest of it. Mandy Patinkin will definitely be up for an Emmy for his amazing portrayal of an ALS patient.
Now back to Three Rivers, yesterday’s episode was not the only good one. They had an episode two weeks ago with a high school football team injured in a bus crash that made you cry, and thankful that there was something so well written on TV. Unlike ER and Grey’s Anatomy, it wasn’t such an adrenaline rush that you needed a downer after watching it, and it made you think those shows have been doing it wrong all along.
CBS has never really backed this show and they started it later than all the other fall shows and then they are wondering why it hasn’t found an audience. Three Rivers is against Desperate Housewives, which shockingly is still doing well and Family Guy, which is having its best numbers ever, so is it a wonder why it is having a tough time people left to watch it. Plus Cold Case should’ve been cancelled at least 2 years ago and Amazing Race is an Emmy winner, but has never been a ratings winner and those are the shows that CBS has paired it with. The show never had a chance, and it really needs one because it is truly well done, well acted, well written show that deserves a chance to remain on the air. And I am not making this plea because Alex O’Loughlin is on it, this show is really that good!!!
So please I implore to watch Three Rivers this Sunday at 10p, if enough people watch it, maybe they will order additional episodes instead of killing it after 13! So please, please, please help me save this show!!!

Numb3rs days numb3red???
November 4th, 2009 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS has cut the 6th season order of Numb3rs down from 22 to 16, and you don’t have to be a math genius to know that is a bad thing for the show’s future. The show hasn’t been doing that bad in the ratings, it just isn’t doing that good either. At least it is beating The Jay Leno Show, oh wait that is not a hard thing to do.
While the news is bad for one CBS show, the news is legen-wait for it-dary for most of their other shows! According to EW’s Michael Ausiello “CBS has upped the episode orders of How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, NCIS: LA, CSI: Miami, and Two and a Half Men from 22 to 24, while requesting one additional episode of Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, The Big Bang Theory, The Good Wife, CSI, and The Mentalist, bringing their totals from 22 to 23.” That is great news for all of those shows, but I fear we are very close to finding out that they will not be ordering any additional episodes from Three Rivers. And that show has been getting better and better every week.

CBS want 5 more episode of Accidentally on Purpose!!!
November 3rd, 2009 under CBS, Jenna Elfman. [ Comments: none ]

CBS finally announced today that they are ordering 5 more episodes of their hit comedy Accidentally on Purpose!!! The show had its highest ratings yesterday since the premiere and that is an amazing accomplishment because they were up against a kick a$$ World Series game with the Yankees.
While 5 episodes is not a full season pick up it is better than nothing. I am wondering if they only ordered 5 episodes to accommodate Jenna Elfman’s real life pregnancy? Or it could be for some reason CBS thinks we still want to see Rules of Engagament and this is the only hole they have because all of their sitcoms are doing well on Monday and Wednesday. Either way I am thrilled they are sticking with Accidentally on Purpose because the show keeps getting better and better each week. So make sure to check it out this Monday and every Monday at 8:30p on CBS! But before then watch the above interview I did with Jon Foster (Zach) and check out Nicolas Wright’s (Davis) behind-the-scene videos. Nic Video Blogs every week and they are a lot of fun to watch like the show itself!

Jenna Elfman talks about Accidentally on Purpose
November 2nd, 2009 under CBS, Jenna Elfman. [ Comments: none ]

Jenna Elfman is back on TV with CBS’s new hit comedy Accidentally on Purpose and she talked to me about the show that brought her back to TV. So what was it about this CBS Monday night sitcom that convinced her to return to TV? She told me, “When I first read the script it made me laugh out loud repeatedly which I thought was a very good sign. Because I’ve been looking for the past 4 and a half years to develop and find a great new show to come back to television with and they don’t always make you laugh out loud. so I am very excited!” And she has a lot to be excited about because this show will have you laughing out loud repeatedly too!
Jenna plays Billie, a woman in her late 30’s who thought her boyfriend/boss was going to propose to her but when he doesn’t she winds having a one night stand with a 22 year old guy, Zack and finds herself pregnant by him. Even though Zack is basically homeless and working a crap job, he decides to man up and take responsibility for their baby and Billie asks him to move in. The two of them have decided to have a platonic relationship and with that comes their friends and her sister. There will be a lot of hysterical things that happen because of their living arrangement and she detailed some of things that will be coming up on the show. There will be dating, her trying to keep her job because her ex will do things out of spite and a big cliffhanger in the Christmas episode that will have us excited for the New Year!
Talking about the New Year, Jenna has something to be excited about…her second baby! So was Story’s future sibling planned? She told me, “Yes! Once I found out the show was going to be on for the fall season, I turned to my husband and said this is a good time to have another baby cause my character is pregnant the whole first season on the show and I won’t have to hide it.” But Jenna added because she was showing a little more than Billie was and she did have to hide her pregnancy for the first few episodes. But once the two baby bumps were at the same size, it was very liberating for her to let it show!
If you have never seen Accidentally on Purpose, why not start watching it tonight on CBS at 8:30p and discover just how hysterical this show is!!! On tonight’s episode when Billie’s cravings lead her to eating the guys’ ribs, they decide to get revenge and eat something of hers. I can’t wait to see what eases their cravings because you know it is going to be good just like all the other episodes!!!

Nicolas Wright talks about Accidentally on Purpose
October 26th, 2009 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight on CBS at 8:30p they are re-airing the pilot of Accidentally on Purpose and you can get to see how this funny sitcom started out. AoP is about a woman, Billie (Jenna Elfman) in her mid-thirties who gets knocked up by her much younger one night stand. Once she finds out she is pregnant she asks him, Zack (Jon Foster) to move in and with him comes his BFF Davis. Davis is played by the hysterical Nicolas Wright and he told me about his character and the show.
Davis is one of those guys who will never grow up, and Nicolas told me that even though his character is that way in ways he is like a surrogate dad to Zack. What he likes about Davis he is unpredictable and you never know what you are going to get with him. That is something that has been evident throughout the show so far. Like last week when Davis decided that he wanted to have relationship that was more than just sex with a girl, so he glued his pants’ zipper shut. Sadly the glue worked, and he lost the girl who didn’t want anything more than a booty call.
When I asked him how much of Davis is like him he told me, “I think there is an inner slacker in all of us. I am definitely proned to bringing mine to the surface more often than not. I’m not quite as messy as him. My apartment doesn’t have gun metal gray walls with dirty bean bags and lawn chairs as furniture. You know, but I procrastinate on a lot of things and I don’t dishes as much as I should. I definitely share some of the slacker traits that Davis has. And I have a lot of fun letting that come out when I play him. It’s ridiculous. Who doesn’t want to wash plates with squirt guns?” I know I do. And who doesn’t want a slacker BFF? But even though he is a slacker, he is always there for Zack when he needs him.
So since Zack has an older woman that he lives with, does that mean Davis will get to hook up with one of Billie’s friends? Nicolas told me that he hopes he gets a chance with a Billie’s BFF, Olivia played by Ashley Jensen, who if she hasn’t popped out her baby now is about to any second. What Nicolas might not know is when I asked the show creator Claudia Lonow if there was the slightest chance that would happen, she told me it would. I can’t wait for that episode, and I am sure he is even more excited about it!!!
Nicolas has two other projects to besides Accidentally on Purpose to be excited about. His film The Wild Hunt won an award Toronto Film Festival and will be coming out in the next few months! He also has a series in development with IFC called Dieter Horn an ’80s action show celebrating that decades action movies! You can watch the clip below and make sure to watch him tonight and every Monday at 8:30p in CBS’s Accidentally on Purpose!
