BTWF roles: Nicolas Wright in King’s Ranson
October 26th, 2009 under Before They Were Famous, CBS. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at :38 in)

Before Nicolas Wright was the slacker on Accidentally on Purpose, he was the guy getting a beat down with ketchup from one in King’s Ransom. How different does he look in that 2005 movie without the beard?

Jon Foster talks about Accidentally on Purpose!
October 19th, 2009 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Last week I did a set visit on CBS’s newest hit comedy Accidentally on Purpose which airs on Mondays at 830p and I spoke to the stars about it. Accidentally on Purpose stars Jenna Elfman as woman in her mid-30’s who thinks her boyfriend/boss (Grant Show) is going to propose to her, and when he doesn’t she finds herself at a bar with a much younger man played by the absolutely enticing Jon Foster. That one night stand with him leads to her finding out she is pregnant with his baby and him moving out his van and in with her. By him moving in, she now has to deal with him and his BFF Davis (Nicolas Wright) and their antics along with her own friends wackiness and all of that equals a show that will having you laughing out loud!
Jon, plays Zack a 22 year old Chef, who goes from living in his van to living in what will be his baby’s nursery in the apartment of a woman he had a one-stand with. I sat down with him in that room and he told me Zack is cooler than him, but after interviewing him I say he is way cooler! He told me what he like about playing this role is that, “He’s a stand up dude. He’s just always there and he wants to do good and that’s the coolest thing. That’s the greatest thing I like about him. Playing somebody on television for a possible young generation to look up to. That’s a great thing to be doing.” As you can see just like his character, he is wise beyond his years. So talking about beyond their years, would he date someone older than him like Zack? He told me “Bring it on!” I am sure that comment will get him a lot of fan mail from older woman who are willing to bring it! This is not the first time that he has played someone dating an older woman, in fact he told me that it is a joke that is a requirement for him to date someone older in every role he does. You might remember his most infamous one was on life as we know it when the show was banned by several ABC affils because he was dating a teacher.
Another way he is like Zack is that just 4 weeks before he got the role, he sadly lost his house, he was couch shopping and sold his car. Then he went in for the audition and 4 days later he landed the role and now he has a much cooler car! It is a beaten up cop car and he loves it! So it is a true Hollywood success story! Hopefully CBS will pick up the show ASAP, so we can keep him on TV as long as possible. Plus he teased me by saying because they air between How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men that he thinks he should go naked on the show. Yet another reason to watch!!! Well that and because the show is just so hysterical!
Accidentally on Purpose is a very fertile set, with two of the stars, Jenna Elfman and Ashley Jensen pregnant in real life. Jon let me in a little secret because of their pregnancies there is a whole lot of farting going on behind-the-scenes. As we were talking Nicolas Wright walked by and had no idea that this was going on and you have to watch the two guys talk about it in the above interview. So you would think there would be a whole lot of a fart jokes on the show? Nope, at least for now. But he did tell some of the things that will be a gas coming up on the show. Davis and him will be going on some interesting dates with some girls that are really bonkers and another episode will have something to do with crabs. Not those crabs, but the ones that come out of the ocean! I can’t wait for those episodes because if those scenes are as hilarious as when he mixed up the self-tanner with lotion when he was you know, I say, “Bring it!”
Seriously because he was so hysterical during this interview, you might find it hard to believe that this is first comedy but it is. Besides AoP he has three dramatic movies coming out soon. He is starring as a creepy serial killer in Tenderness and Russell Crowe plays a cop trying to catch him. Next up he is in Rosalyn that is about the dangers of Fraternity hazing. Finally he’s in a Western called The Last Rites of Ransom Pride with two country singers Kris Kristofferson and Dwight Yoakam. So with all those serious movies, it is no surprise that he said this about this about his current project, “Our only responsibility is to make laugh as powerful as possible. Just laugh, all day long, laugh. It’s the coolest thing in the world. I love it.” And you will love and laugh with him when you watch Accidentally on Purpose every Monday on CBS at 8:30p! So check it out tonight for a show that makes you laugh.
Please watch the interview above to see how easy it is to fall in love with him because he just so charming and entrancing. Just like he was in that interview, is how he is on the show, need I say more as a reason to watch Accidentally On Purpose?
I also interviewed Nicolas Wright, Jenna Elfman, Grant Show and creator Claudia Lonow about Accidentally on Purpose and I will be posting their interviews soon.

Mandy Patinkin guest starring on Three Rivers is personal for him
October 14th, 2009 under CBS, Mandy Patinkin. [ Comments: 1 ]

(photo from WireImage)

Mandy Patinkin is returning to CBS, not for his old one Criminal Minds but to Sunday’s newest drama Three Rivers. Three Rivers is about organ donation and that is something Mandy knows about. He will be playing an ALS patient who becomes a donor after he is taken off of life supprt. Donation is something he knows, “Patinkin has a very personal connection with organ donation, in 1997 and 1998, he received corneal transplants in his right and left eyes to correct the condition of keratoconus, an eye disease that creates a “cone-shaped” cornea which impairs vision severely. Patinkin’s corneas were donated by the families of a 13 year-old girl (right eye) and a 12 year-old boy (left eye).” Wow, I can’t wait to see that episode because it sounds like it is going to be a real tearjerker.
The show’s creator Carol Barbee had told us at CBS press event that they were going to bring real life stories about organ donation to the show’s storylines, but she never said that there would be actors who were personally affected by donations would be on the show and I have to admit I really love the idea. Hopefully the show that is struggling to find an audience will still be on the air by then, so please check it this Sunday and every Sunday on CBS at 9p!

CBS keeping NCIS: LA and The Good Wife for the season!
October 7th, 2009 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS has picked up their two hugely successful Tuesday night shows NCIS: LA and The Good Wife for the season. The pick ups should come as no surprise especially since NCIS: LA is the second most watched primetime show for the week. Not bad for a brand new show. The Good Wife is also doing well in the ratings and with the critics. Are you guys as hooked on these shows as much as I am?

Check into Three Rivers tonight
October 4th, 2009 under CBS. [ Comments: 1 ]

Three Rivers premieres tonight on CBS at 9p and this is a must add show to your TV viewing! The show is about the three sides of organ donation. It tells the story of the donor, the doctor and the donee.
The show stars Alex O’Loughlin and I would be lying to you if I didn’t tell you that he is what drew to me the show. But what kept me watching is how good the show is. This is not the first show about organ donations, but this the first one I can remember that shows all the parties involved in the donation. In the first two episodes of the shows they deal with families who are not sure about donating the organs of their loved ones and some that want to donate. They deal with donors wanting a new organ and one who doesn’t. It also deals with doctors hoping they can extend someone’s life with the organs of someone else. Sometimes they will be successful and sometimes they won’t get to their patient in time.
Each episode touches your heart and all the actors on the show are excellent as they emotionally draw you in. Alex O’Loughlin is just so warm that you so want him to be your doctor and I don’t mean like that game we played as kids…although I wouldn’t not play with him! This is much different role for Katherine Moennig who is much softer than she was as Shane on The L Word, but she still has that toughness. Daniel Henney is perfect as pretending to be the emotionless doctor who really is a good guy. Christopher J. Hanke is cute as the new assistant who has doesn’t have a medical background and the staff all treat him as you would treat a substitute teacher when you were a kid.
Three Rivers is the perfect show for a Sunday night, so check it tonight and every Sunday on CBS at 9p.
