It had to be Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood on Blue Bloods!
August 1st, 2011 under Carrie Underwood, CBS, Tony Bennett. [ Comments: none ]

Tony Bennett might have left his heart in San Fransisco, but he will leave an impression on the season premiere of Blue Bloods. The singer that every other musician wants to duet with will be singing with Carrie Underwood on the CBS cop show. The two powerful voices will merge as one as they sing It Had to Be You at a fundraiser for the new Mayor. Frank Reagan aka Tom Selleck will be there to hear them duet, but I was kind of hoping that Donnie Wahlberg’s character would be there too so he could join in with them during the September 23rd episode.
Seriously who doesn’t love this show. I wasn’t expecting to like this show, but its my favorite new show from last season that is coming back for a second one.

UPDATE: The New Kid on the Block confirmed he didn’t work with Bennett and Underwood on Twitter, Donnie Wahlberg Tweeted “Carrie Underwood & Tony Bennett were here today on the Blue Bloods set… I was busy chasing bad guys and missed them! :(” Bummer.

Ted Danson clocks in as CSI’s new lead investigator!!!
July 29th, 2011 under CBS, Ted Danson Mary Steenburgen. [ Comments: 2 ]

Since almost all the attention has been put on Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen, we have put Ted Danson replacing that guy (what is his name again?) on CSI on the back burner. Well a day after CBS released a new promo shot for Two and a Half Men, they have now released the first look of Sam Malone as D.B. Russell on the original CSI. I wonder what the D and the B stand for? Sorry it is Friday so I am going for it, Dick and Balls? What do you think the initials are for?
Now when it comes to the picture it looks like he is going to fit in much better than that other guy. Seriously what was his name again? I know he was on Pee Wee Playhouse. Oh it’s Laurence Fishburne, right?
Anyways back to CSI, I have to admit I will be curious to see what Ted Danson adds to CSI when it comes back on CBS on it’s new day and time, Wednesday, September 21st at 10p.

CBS cheers because they got Ted Danson to join CSI!

When Laurence Fishburne announced that he was leaving CSI, I had no idea who CBS was going to get to replace him. Well they got someone so much better, because they landed Ted Danson. He was not on my list as a possible replacement, but I think he will be great on the show.
In a CBS press release they describe his role as, “Danson will play the new CSI Supervisor for the grave shift after heading the crime lab in Portland. He comes to the team as they are still grappling with the professional and personal fallout from last season’s take-down of serial killer, Nate Haskell.”
Will he make me watch? You know what I might just check him out because it is such an odd casting choice. We can all check him out on September 21st at 10p when the new boss makes his debut on CSI’s new night!

Can CSI stand for Charlie Sheen In, now that Laurence Fishburne is out?
June 8th, 2011 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Since the network announced their fall schedules, several actors have announced their departures from their shows like Law & Order: SVU’s Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay who will follow him out the door after 13 episodes, Lisa Edlestein quit House, Patrick Dempsey says this season will be his last on Grey’s Anatomy and Trevor Donovan is moving out of the 90210. Well now according to Deadline there is someone else joining them by leaving their show and that is CSI’s Laurence Fishburne. They said he opted not to renew his contract with the show, and assume that the Oscar nominated actor will go back to doing movies full time. I am sure that is part of the reason, but let’s be real since he joined CSI they lost millions of viewers. In fact the once top rated show finished #10 in viewers this season and lost its timeslot that it has held since season 2. I am guessing when it came time to negotiate another season, no one fought to keep him on the show. I could be wrong, but if I were CBS I would have no problem letting him go considering how the show has done since he joined it two and a half years ago.
And I personally think that this news could be a great solution on how the show can get rid of Marg Helgenberger too. She has already said she is leaving the show this season, so why not have her go for Fishburne’s position and have that job filled by someone else, you know like her real life ex-husband Alan Rosenberg. Or better yet, how about a winning situation for CBS and CSI? They bring Charlie Sheen back to the network in CSI. He hasn’t done drama in a long time, maybe it is time he came back to doing it on CSI? I might reconsider getting back to the show since I gave it up after the first season.
So who do you think should join the show as his replacement? Or do you think it is time to kill off the show like they do to a victim every week?
