BTWF roles: Ally Sheedy in The Violation of Sarah McDavid
March 15th, 2010 under Before They Were Famous, Brat Pack. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 5:05 in)

Before Ally Sheedy spent a Saturday with the Breakfast Club, she was in Patty Duke’s class in The Violation of Sarah McDavid. The 18 year old actress looks the same now as she did in that 1981 telemovie.

Capture Citizen Jane tonight on Hallmark!
September 12th, 2009 under Brat Pack, Hallmark, Meat Loaf/Jim Steinman, Sean Patrick Flanery. [ Comments: 1 ]

Tonight on Hallmark they are premiere the inspirational well-acted movie Citizen Jane. It is the story of a woman whose fiance’, unknowingly to her, killed her beloved aunt. In one day she lost the man she loved and the woman she loved like a mother and she makes it her personal mission to put the man away who took her away from her.
Ally Sheedy is so believable as the woman who solves her aunt’s murder with the help of a cop who never gave up and by reading the mystery novels her aunt loved so much. Meat Loaf is so good as cop, that part of me thinks that he might’ve made a wrong career choice but then if he had we never would have heard his powerful voice and that would be beyond awful. Sean Partick Flanery looks all nice on the outside in the movie, but you can see him as the evil killer that he plays in it.
The movie is so well done, that you never lose interest it and when the movie ends you can see that this can be made in to a series of movies for the network and you will really want to see more of them. In real life Jane Alexander went on to help other families solve the murders of their loved one. Sadly she died two days before production started and you know she will be watching this movie with her aunt in heaven enjoying it as much as I did and you will. So make sure to make sure to watch it tonight on Hallmark at 9p!

Remember Judd Nelson?
August 14th, 2009 under Brat Pack, Remember?. [ Comments: none ]

With all the talk about the Brat Pack since the loss of John Hughes last week and the sad announcement that St Elmo’s Fire is being converted into a TV show, I wondered what happened to Judd Nelson. Fame Pictures caught up with 49 year old The Breakfast Club star and I never would’ve recognized him. It is good to see that he lost the weight that he had on him when he did Suddenly Susan, he looks so much better than he did then. BTW according to IMDB, Judd Nelson has a bunch of movies coming up in the next year!

RIP John Hughes
August 6th, 2009 under Brat Pack, Obits. [ Comments: none ]

John Hughes whose movies have become a rite of passage for teens since the mid-’80s passed away today from a heart attack at the way too young age of 59 according to The Hollywood Reporter. He died today while talking a walk in Manhattan.
Some of the movies he is most known for are 16 Candles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Some Kind of Wonderful, Pretty in Pink, Weird Science and Home Alone. All movies that have shaped and will continue to shape teens forever. I still remember when I turned 16 and looking the mirror thinking just like Molly Ringwald, I still looked the same.
John Hughes us survived by his wife of 39 years, 2 sons and 4 grandkids. So sad.
So everyone go watch at least one of his movie tonight as an honor the brilliant cinematic legacy he leaves behind.

BTWF roles: Molly Ringwald on The Facts of Life
April 15th, 2009 under Before They Were Famous, Brat Pack. [ Comments: 1 ]

(starts at 2:40 in)

Before she was a member of the The Breakfast Club, she belonged to The Facts of Life. How different does the red-headed actress look back in 1979 as a natural brunette when she was 12?
