Donnie Wahlberg and his wife, Jenny McCarthy, were on Watch What Happens Live the other night and Andy Cohen wanted to know which New Kid on the Block is hangin’ tough. That is when the Blue Bloods star said, “I’ve seen them all…It depends. Some of us are growers. Some are showers.” Then it was time for the big reveal, “Joey, hanging around, has like a young child between his legs. I’m not sure how well it grows.” That means the littlest member of the boy band is all the biggest.
Now what about Donnie, does he have the right stuff? The Mrs shared with us, “You’re the biggest…grower.” To which he replied, “It grows OK!” And now I am going to watch them differently as they take each Step by Step because this revelation blew my mind. Didn’t he blow your mind this time?
I am sure you have heard the expression “jump the shark.” It refers to when a show has climaxed and reached the point of no return, and it is all downhill from there. The reference is from the Happy Days episode when the cast went to California and the Fonz jumps a shark. It was so over the top that there was nothing that the show could do to go back to the way it was beforehand.
It has been 40 years, one month and one week since that legendary episode aired and yesterday Henry Winkler talked about it on Watch What Happens Live. Andy Cohen wanted to knew if the actor thought the show really jumped the shark with that episode. Arthur Fonzerelli told him, “One, we did it in the fourth year and we were number one for the next five years. So I really didn’t care.” Then he added, “There were still newspapers and every time they mentioned ‘jumped the shark’ they would show a picture of me water skiing. And at that time I had great legs!” In other words, take your jump the shark and go swim with one!
When it comes to who he wants to play Fonzie, if they ever do a remake, and he said it is a toss up between Robert De Niro and Ryan Gosling.
Another caller wanted to know which of his Better Late Than Never co-vacationers would he Shag, Marry or Kill. He said he would kill William Shatner, marry George Foreman for his money and shag Terry Bradshaw because he claims to have a lot of money but he does not have a grill like the boxer. On that note, Better Late Than Never will be back on NBC New Year’s Day! I hope I am sobered up by then because I love love love this show that has yet to jump the shark!
As we know, Lori Singer got the part of Ariel in 1984’s Footloose. Before she got the job of a lifetime, there were two other actresses who were also up for it. They are Fast Times at Ridgemont High’s Jennifer Jason Leigh and One Day at a Time’s Valerie Bertinelli. The latter has her theory why she didn’t get it. She told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live yesterday that she can’t dance. That as we all know, is a key requirement for that classic movie.
Proving she might be Hot In Cleveland, but she is not hot on the dance floor. Now I am going to spend the whole day pondering what it would have been like if she got the starring role in that film.
Seth MacFarlane has made fun of a lot, and I do mean a lot, celebrities on his shows throughout the years, but who is the one celebrity who was not happy with him mocking them? The other night when the animated genius was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a caller wanted to know that very thing. That is when the captain of The Orville (that airs on Fox tonight at 8p) told him it was Adrien Brody. The Oscar winner did not like when Family Guy made fun of nose size back in 2012. Brody can really hold a grudge, but then again so can Halle Berry, who is still upset he kissed her without her permission when he won his statuette back in 2003.
Seriously, I do not what Brody is so upset about, MacFarlane has done and said things so much worse about so many other celebrities, that this is truly nothing and actually quite hilarious. To see how harmless it is, then click here!
Fox finally announced today that they picked up their Summer hit Love Connection for a second season. The decision to pick up the reboot hosted by Andy Cohen seems like a no brainer because it turned out to be smart fun.
The best part of the dating show is not when the dates trash each other or when they choose $10,000 over true love, instead it is at the end when they give you updates and most of them do not work out. There was actually a contestant who did not show up their weekend getaway. Burn!
If you have not seen the show, you can catch up with it on the Fox app and watch it every Thursday at 9p.
