America’s Got Talent was back yesterday on NBC, and they started season 19 off with Simon Cowell’s son’s favorite act from Britain’s Got Talent.
Who is Eric so fond of? His name is Tonikaku, and he poses naked, and not like in a model for an art class. Instead, he does it in poses like John Wick Naked and Basketball Player Naked Pose.
Wait, how did he get away with that because AGT is a family show? He was wearing pants.
However, he had a trick up his sleeve for his last pose—if he were wearing sleeves, which he wasn’t. Anyway, for his last pose, he took those pants off and did a Naked Pose.
And now I can’t wait to see what he does next because Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara all voted yes for him to move on to the next round.
If this is the talent that is advancing, it is definitely going to be an interesting season.
America’s Got Talent was back with the live shows tonight, and Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara got dressed up for the occasion.
Klum wore a short red dress, while her co-judge wore a yellow one. The first thing I thought of when I saw them is they look like ketchup and mustard. Then I was like, they look like Elmo and Big Bird.
There have been so many auditions that we have seen on America’s Got Talent throughout the years, and there are a few that will always stand out. There has been Kodi Lee and Nightbirde. And this season’s standout audition goes to Lavender Darcangelo.
Lavender is a 27-year-old blind, autistic singer who won over the hearts of everyone in the room before she sang her first note. She told Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel that she wants to use the money “to build a school where the classes are based off of what kids are naturally curious at. So a school I would’ve thrived in.”
Lavender was joined on the stage by her adoptive father, who shared the story of how they became a family. He started an afterschool music program, and she asked him to adopt her. After a few years, she moved in with him and his husband when they returned from their honeymoon. And a year later, they were the proud legal dads of a daughter!
Now it was time for her audition, and she sang Irene Cara’s On My Own from Fame. Lavender made the ballad her own, and her voice made it one of the most beautiful songs I have heard, just behind the original. In fact, she did such an outstanding job with the tune. I know that Cara is so proud of her that the songwriter’s pride is beaming down at the contestant from Heaven.
After she hit her last note, everyone in the theater stood up and applauded her. When Mandel told her that everyone was on their feet, she humbly responded with, “Oh really? Thank you so much!”
And there is no one more than Klum that she should be thankful to because the Supermodel hit the Golden Buzzer for the singer. And that means she automatically goes through to the live shows.
I can’t wait to see her perform because, as Cowell said, “This is an audition I’ll never forget.” I won’t either.
There have been auditions on the Got Talent shows that have left the judges and the audience in tears. There have also been ones that caused everyone to get on their feet and cheer. But there has never been a reaction like the one that Musa Motha got on Britain’s Got Talent yesterday.
Musa Motha came out and told Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Bruno Tonioli that he lost the lower part of his left leg to cancer as a teenager. Before then, he was a football player. But after that, he learned how to dance from his friends.
And that brings us to his audition. Motha performed a lyrical dance to Naughty Boy and Beyonce’s Runnin’ (Lose It All). It would’ve been a beautiful routine if he did it with two legs, but it was beyond stunning to watch him do it with just one.
He wants to be inspirational, and he is.
So much so that even though the judges have each given out their Golden Buzzer, Cowell let them do a group one for the audience.
Therefore, he moves on, and my friend in London is going to have to let me Whatsapp with her so I can watch him live on the show. She has no choice because I can watch him over and over again. I think everyone will be enamored with the way he moves his body.
And it proves you do anything that you put your mind to. And he has put his mind to it and has successfully mastered dancing.
Because of that, we are all left crying happy tears for all that he has accomplished.
