So Clay Aiken was on a plane going to his Tulsa concert when he got into an argument with a woman according to Tulsa World. Clay Aiken put his foot on another passenger's armrest and she told him to move his feet. When he didn't the two got into an argument and she pushed him. The flight crew was able to resolve the matter, but the FBI was called in anyways and no charges were filed. Clay later joked at his concert that he was pushed by a girl.
This is not the first time someone complained about Clay's feet on a plane, last month Celebitchy had a story about passengers complaining about his very smelly feet stinking up the cabin. Not sure if that was the case this time, but if it was the woman was in right. I hate smelly people on planes.
Just like American Idol auditions are bein held for the Off-Broadway Musical Idol:The Musical according to Broadway.com. The show "is a satirical musical comedy that focuses on the outrageous and delusional fan base of the hit television show. The musical takes place in Steubenville, Ohio where a group of dork-like students are preparing for their high school graduation after which they are determined to drag themselves out of the dregs of the middle-of-nowhere. There are eight of them; all belonging to the same cult-like club that meets daily in a barn that doubles as a shrine to Clay Aiken…The story heats up when the mid-American leg of the 'Idol Tour,' starring Clay Aiken, is announced to be playing Chicago, Memphis, Louisville, Scranton, Charleston, Greensboro, Roanoke and…Steubenville." If you want to audition for the show, check out Broadway.com for more information about what they are casting for.
Since I am a Claymate, I can't wait to see this show!!!
Kelly Clarkson is just not having good luck with this new album. First Clive Davis and her argued over the content of the album then the release date with her winning on both fronts. Yesterday she fired her manager and recently switched publicists too. Today she announced that she was postponing it because she said it was too early to tour with the new album, but her new publicist told a different story. He released a press release that had the following quotes:
“It is mind blowing when you stop to think about what Kelly Clarkson has achieved during her young career,” said Michael Rapino, CEO of LiveNation. “But ticket sales have not been what we anticipated and we came to the realization that we had bit off more than we could chew. In the end, we are in the Kelly Clarkson business and for that reason we believe that this decision will only benefit her and her fans in the long run.”
“Kelly is a spectacular artist and an incredible performer who undoubtedly has what it takes to sustain a long and prosperous career,” added Gregg Perloff, CEO of Another Planet Entertainment. “The day when she will play in sold-out arenas is, no doubt, coming, but for now her fans should look forward to seeing her in a more intimate concert environment. Kelly deserves a tremendous amount of praise for her courage in not only being a part of, but in supporting, this difficult decision.”
I am shocked she isn't selling because she seems to have such a loyal fan base, but then again concert sales are down in general. I think the big reason sales are down because between ticket prices being too high and TicketMaster charging around a $20 surcharge plus parking at the arena, it is just way too expensive to see a show. It is sad that I thought The Police were cheap and those tickets went for around $270 when the costs were calculated together and I am still not going to see that mother fing band because there were no tickets to be…can you tell how bitter I am that The Police turned out to be a total corporate like affair. But back to Kelly hopefully she will do her tour in a much more intimate setting because that is the best way to see a show.
Simon Cowell is defending American Idol's first winner Kelly Clarkson over the whole record debacle. Here is what he told Entertainment Weekly about the whole situation, ''Kelly is not a puppet; she does not like to be told what to do. She could have gone the easy route, which is, you go with ['Since U Been Gone' producer] Max Martin — it's a guaranteed success. She made it absolutely clear that she wanted to steer the musical direction on this record. You just gotta say, 'You know what? This girl has given us millions and millions of sales.' You've got to give her that opportunity. If it works out, fantastic. If she then decides she wants to do a pop album, every good writer and producer wants to work with her. Because Kelly will be here for 30 years. She has one of the best pop voices in the world right now. What she sold in the U.K., Europe, Asia had nothing to do with American Idol. It had everything to do with the fact that she made a great record and she's got an incredible voice. She's not a girl who got lucky in a talent competition; we got lucky to find her.'' You know what he is 100% right. Clive Davis should be kissing her a$$ because she is his biggest current seller and no matter how different the sound of this album is, she is going to sell like crazy.
