Jennifer Hudson turned the big 4-0 yesterday, and Madame Tussauds New York gave her the best gift. They gave her herself. As in, a wax version of the Oscar winner.
They did such a good job; I can’t tell which one is real and which one is the life-sized figure.

On Monday night, Paula Abdul filled in for Luke Bryan, who has COVID-19, on American Idol. Not only was she reunited with Ryan Seacrest, but Randy Jackson called it in. While she was speaking to her old co-judge, she called Simon Cowell “The STD.”
What does that mean? Is she saying he is like herpes and he won’t go away. Nope. The singer told Entertainment Tonight that STD means “Sexy. Talented. Debonair.”
Luke Bryan found out the hard way that margaritas do not kill coronavirus. That is because he tested positive for it.
“I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live @AmericanIdol show,” Bryan wrote. “I tested positive for COVID but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon.”
Since the show must go on, it will. “Luke will be missed at our first #AmericanIdol LIVE show tonight, but he is resting now in quarantine at home and we’re wishing him a speedy recovery,” American Idol wrote in a statement. “We’re so excited to announce @paulaabdul will be stepping in as a guest judge to join Lionel Richie and Katy Perry as we get closer to crowning a new winner!”
Abdul was the first judge to leave the singing competition when it was on Fox. It will be interesting to see how much things have changed since she left the show in 2009.
I am so curious about how Abdul will do. I might actually watch it. Are you going to check it out too?
Nikki McKibbin passed away from a brain aneurism yesterday at the age of 42. Her widow, Craig Sadler, wrote, “Many of you already know something is wrong. The love of my life Nikki Sadler suffered an aneurysm on Wednesday. She would already be gone, but she’s an organ donor and has been kept on life support to make that possible. That shouldn’t be a surprise to us. Even at the end she is still giving. She was so loved that I know thousands of you will be grieving with us. There are only a few hours left for me to hold her hand and kiss her forehead.”
McKibbin is best known for coming in third place on the first season of American Idol. After the show, she released two albums and several singles along with starring in a few reality shows like Celebrity Rehab and its sister show Sober House.
For the latter part of her life, she lived a quiet life with her husband. However, in 2014, she joined her son, Tristen Langley, when he auditioned for American Idol.
Today, let’s remember the firey rocker by watching her performances on Idol.
Kelly Clarkson has a new talk show and she had some huge guests on it today. They are Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and the dog Randy Jackson. Three people who have been with her since the start of her career back in 2002 on a little show called American Idol.
That was an interesting year for all of them and they talked about what it was like working on the singing competition before it aired. Cowell said the auditions were so bad he thought the show was going to fail. He went back to London and had no idea when the show was going to debut in the States. The day after it premiered, he got a phone call telling him the show was a hit. Cowell really thought it would be on for two weeks and then be done. Jackson felt the same way, but Paula knew it was going to be a hit. Who is the smartest one in the trio?
Although the boys would try to make Abdul look crazy and dumb on the judging panel. They would play a game they called The Name Game. Cowell would say to them, you can have x amount of time on Rodeo Drive with his black card if they said certain words like “spotted dick” on the air.
The had a lot of fun working together, as you can see, would they do it again? In a heartbeat. If I were ABC, I would fire those three judges they have now and replace them with this set. Then I would watch American Idol again.
One thing I will never watch again is From Justin to Kelly. I am not alone because Clarkson really hates the film. In fact, the singer told her nanny if she ever shows it to her two kids, that person would be fired. What would it take to get Clarkson to remake it? If Cowell did it with her. He would do it in a small role.
Talking about that film, whatever happened to Justin Guarini? He also was on the show and talked about how he landed that Dr. Diet Pepper commercials. However, he did not say if he would do another From Justin to Kelly. I would watch a sequel, wouldn’t you?
Seeing them all together makes me miss how good Idol was before they added the fourth judge. That is when the show went downhill.
