American Doll

Wednesday Addams has become an idol to little girls, and they want one they can play with at home. Now that is possible because American Girl Doll is releasing one for them to enjoy.

The 18″ doll comes with her signature braids, black fingernails, and her black and white velvet dress. She is not alone; her BFF Thing is by her side. And no one should mess with her because she also comes with two bags of killer piranha, and we know what they can do.

Wednesday is selling for $295, and only 6,000 of her were made for kids to befriend.

Order her now, so she can be by your side when the second season premieres on Netflix on August 6th. Plus, how cute of an addition would it be to anyone who dresses up as the spooky girl for Halloween?

Boycott American Girl Doll
February 24th, 2023 under American Girl Doll, Unadmirable People. [ Comments: none ]

I am normally never the one who calls for boycotts, but sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do. So today, I am asking all of you to boycott American Girl Dolls.

Why? They just made us feel really old. In 1982 Prince told us to party like it is 1999. And in 2023, American Girl Doll is telling us that that year is historical with the release of their latest dolls.

American Girl’s newest historical duo, Isabel and Nicki Hoffman, are our first-ever twin characters, and they’re growing up in the 1990s in Seattle, Washington. Isabel is bubbly, extroverted, and very into pop music. Nicki is thoughtful, introverted, and passionate about skateboarding. Throughout their stories, each twin learns more about who she is as an individual, with Nicki beginning to express herself with zines (homemade magazines) and song lyrics, and Isabel focusing her passion for party planning and interior decorating. As Nicki and Isabel thrive individually, they also have to learn how to get along and support one another, culminating in a very twin-tastic response to celebrating the millennium.

I get that 1999 was 24 years ago, but is it long enough ago that it can be deemed historic? If so, Shady Pines! Yeah, that reference didn’t help my case.

If this didn’t make you reach for the prune juice and BenGay, wait until you see the computer desk they sell with the twins. To see it, then click here!

American Girl is telling an important story on HBO Max and Cartoon Network
May 11th, 2022 under American Girl Doll, Barbie, HBO Max. [ Comments: none ]

With half of all marriages ending in divorce, that means there are a lot of kids who will grow up without a two-parent household like their friends. Unfortunately, there is not a lot on TV that is made for them.

However, American Girl and Mattel teamed up with HBO Max, Cartoon Network, and MarVista to tell the story of Corrine Tan who is dealing with her parents’ recent divorce with two 60-minute specials.

The first 60-minute special follows 13-year-old ski enthusiast Corinne Tan as she navigates her parents’ recent divorce while her 10-year-old sister, Gwynn, dad, mom, and stepdad Arne have adjusted to their new roles in this blended family. She discovers a new purpose when she challenges herself to train a rambunctious puppy named Flurry to become a search and rescue dog. American Girl: Corinne Tan tells the inspirational story of a proud big sister as she comes to understand family, perseverance, and self-acceptance.

Fred Soulie, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mattel Television. “Corinne is a strong role model, encouraging viewers to be their true, authentic selves. We are proud to bring her rich story to life and inspire television audiences of all ages.”

American Girl: Corinne Tan debuts in December on Cartoon Network and will stream the next day on HBO Max. The second special will air in 2023.

Conan O’Brien goes to the American Girl Doll Store!
December 19th, 2013 under American Girl Doll, Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

Conan O’Brien went to the American Girl Doll Store at the Grove and the place will never be the same. You just have to watch what he does because I am sure that any father, who has been forced to go there with their daughters, will give him a high 5 for doing what he did.
Seriously, this is one of the funniest things that he has ever done because so many people wish they were in his shoes when he was filming this bit.
What I am taking away from his visit to the happiest doll store in the world, is that I promised not to corrupt my friends’ first kid until she was a teenager. I never said anything about the second one, so guess who is getting an American Girl Doll for Christmas and a membership for her dad and her to go all the time?
